  • Audi A4 Park Assist option Greyed Out?

Hi all. Just picked up my new A4 (Used 13 plate) and it has parking sensors at the back. I put it into reverse to get onto the drive and it wasn't beeping and I nearly hit one of our other cars.

Going into the settings on the display in the front, the option for parking assist is greyed out and un-selectable however the sensors are physically there..

    Any ideas?

    Cheers,

    Ash

  • What size end cap do I need?

    Hi all,

I've just disconnected my dish washer and washing machine as I'm moving house. I need an end cap to put on the end of the pipe which the hoses were connected to.

The hoses were standard supply hoses for the appliances, and i was told 15mm, but that's too small as I found out.

Does anyone know what size end cap I need?

    Cheers,

    Ash

  • Dishwasher Doesn't turn pump on?

    Hi all.

I've just installed a dishwasher, and I've noticed something which is going to make it a pain in the rear if it's not fixed!

When the dishwasher "asks" for water, I have to turn the tap on in order to get the pump running and feeding water to the dishwasher. I've noticed it does it 4 or 5 times a cycle, so I can't go out and leave the dishwasher on as it won't get water!

The only thing I can think of is the distance between the dishwasher and the supply pipe. I've got a "Y" splitter on the supply, and there's about 3m of hose between the supply and the dishwasher. The washing machine doesn't have this issue, and there's 1m of hose between it and the supply pipe.

    Any suggestions appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Ash

  • Would a bar pay to supply at an event?

I'm planning a 400 man event. Would a bar pay a fee, say £1000, to sell for the whole weekend, keeping their profits?

Example: A bar pays us £1000 for 3 days, sells drinks at the event, make £3000, giving them £2000 profit. Do you reckon someone would do that?

  • Should I see my GP about a possible sleeping condition?

    Hi all,

I don't know if i should see my GP, or if this is normal sleep behaviour. But, please read on...

I used to work day shifts where I done 9-6 except 2 times every 4 weeks I done a 7:30 - 16:30, and 2 times every 4 weeks I done 11:30 - 20:30. I struggle to get to sleep in general as I work with PC's all day every day. This as far as sleep goes is bad enough.

Now I've been moved into a 4 on 4 off rota. I now do 4 days 8:00 - 20:00, 4 off, then 4 nights, 20:00 - 8:00. These 12 hour shifts in the day kill me and I get about 5 hours sleep every night, wake up shattered, then have to ride a motorbike the next morning.

The first set of night shifts I done, I got around 3 hours sleep between the shifts, as my body finds it impossible to sleep in the day. My first set of 4 night shifts I got 11 hours sleep total. So i get less than 3 hours sleep between shifts. Sleeping pills don't work either by the way.

I cannot for the love of god sleep in the day - whatever I try. when I do it's for an hour or so, then i wake up shattered. I fall asleep again for about an hour and 1 bit, then wake again, feel shattered, but can't sleep.

It's taking a serious toll on my health, and when I get so little sleep, I'm riding a motorcycle home, with little sleep. What's to say I don't fall asleep whilst riding?

Should I see my GP in case I have some sleeping condition??

  • What was this site?

    Hi,

I used to be a member of a site where I could do one of two things, as often as I wanted:

    - Post links to a tutorial I've written

    - Write a tutorial on their site

When you done this, it helped get your blog views. Now, it was a few years ago since I used this site and I wondered if it was still around? I believe it was a blue colour themed website, but I'm not 100% sure. It's one of those "If I hear the name I'll know it". It's not a site like Tuts+ or anything though. I think you also earned money from it too?

    Help please!

  • Bike shudders when starting, and clutch feels different...?

    Hi all,

My bike started acting up today at a set of traffic lights. I stopped, clutch in and kept it in gear - the bike then stalled. So, i thought, meh, start her up! Upon pressing the starter button, the bike kind of shivered whilst starting up, then started fine - I had to hold in my front brake or I would move forward. The bike wouldn't live if I wasn't applying revs. The clutch lever has gone a bit loose since then. It's also not downshifting well - It's solid, until I leave the clutch out and pull it back in, then downshift again. Someone has recommended it could be the clutch cable, but before I go and buy a new one I need to be sure it is the cable. The bike is a Lexmoto XTRS 125. If you need any more info let me know.

    Thanks in Advance,

  • Motorcycle caliper sticking, lever goes stiff?

    Hi All,

I ride a Lexmoto XTRS 125, which I use for commuting. It's a nice runner with one problem - the brakes. I recently purchased new front and rear brake systems, and installed them as my last ones got wrecked in the salt from gritter and the general weather. They run fine for a week or two, but now they're playing up - and I swear it happened overnight!

I went to the shop one morning, and it run fine - the next day I went to go to the shop, and the front caliper was holding onto the wheel, making it almost on impossible to move. The lever had gone stiff too, and needed two hands to pull it, just to get the brake light to come on - I left it for 6 hours before going home from where I was, and it was fine - it had freed up, but as soon as I used my brakes, it started again, until it had completely locked up, and the wheel didn't move at all - and I mean, at all.

Now i contacted the place i purchased the calipers from (CMPO) and they said I should put new fluid in, and apply some copper grease to the caliper pins. By pins i assume they mean these ( http://hvccycle.com/images/hvc200106-F.JPG ). Is there any other reason they could be locking like this?

With the other problem I had, kicking the caliper would un-stick it, but with this problem, it doesn't - I just have to wait an hour or so, which makes me think the pistons do need some copper grease, as they're taking a hell of a long time to retract.

I ride to and from work, and go out every Sunday to a meet. I do try to keep my bike clean, and the calipers do get a fair bit of attention whilst cleaning.

    Thanks in advance.

  • What's this song in an advert!?

It's kinda weird to explain :/

It goes something like 'who, who who who', and the woman singing it sounds like she is trying to "hoot" more than anything. She's not saying it normally either, in pitch it kinda goes:

    High

    Low

    Low

    High

say who, with the above pitching guide thingy, and it may help! I'm looking now for the ad, but will update if i find the ad or song :) This song hasbeen in my head, and it's bugging me!

  • What BMX should I buy?

Hi all, I am looking at buying a new BMX. My old one, the headset broke, and i couldnt get it out the forks, so i changed the forks, to find out my frame only took smaller forks. To work around this, I built a bmx from apollo parts, it had apollo frame, apollo forks, 1 piece crankset, 39 tooth sprocket, cant remember the back sprocket size, and an apollo wheel and a diamondback wheel. Now, this is a really heavy bike, and I can flat 180 it, jhop about 3 feet, can almost footjam tailwhip, but the weight stops me spinning it all the way. On a friends bike who has a haro 300.1, I managed to flat 270 it, so its clearly the weight. I also like doing dirt jumps, so i may go fro a jumpin jack tyre by schwalbe. so I am looking for a really light bike, that has prefrably a 25 - 9 front sprocket-back sprocket. I have been looking at the haro 400.1 and the mongoose chamber, and they look really nice, but overall im going for a nice, light, solid BMX.

    Cheers,

    Ash

  • How to run HD audio through the back of a PC?

I just got a PC with an ATI Radeon HD 6870. I have put the setup - DVI from the GPU to HDMI on the monitor which is 1080p full HD. The headset that i am using is the Turtle Beach x11.

I can only hear audio if i plug the jacks and the USB amplifier into the top of my computer. Is there a way how i can run it in HD, but plug the jacks and USB cable into the back of the PC so they are out of my way?

    Thanks,
