Would a bar pay to supply at an event?

I'm planning a 400 man event. Would a bar pay a fee, say £1000, to sell for the whole weekend, keeping their profits?

Example: A bar pays us £1000 for 3 days, sells drinks at the event, make £3000, giving them £2000 profit. Do you reckon someone would do that?

Would they? Sort of - Christopher's answer is spot on - the bar is going to require a minimum amount of sales (guaranteeing a profit) and failure to meet that threshhold means that the promoter ponies up the difference. The promoter takes all the risk - as it should be.

You would probably have to guarantee them a certain level of sales - and make up the money if they don't reach that target.

Ask and see - some gullible people might.
