How much longer will governments put up with religion?

"Picture the scene. A harlot is sitting on the back of a fearsome beast. The beast has seven heads and ten horns. (Revelation 17:1-4) Whom does the harlot represent? In a stroke of perfect justice, he will use her political paramours as his instrument of execution.

What must you do if you do not want to share the fate of false religion? “Get out of her, my people,” urges God’s messenger. (Revelation 18:4) Indeed, now is the time to flee from false religion! But to where can you flee? Not into atheism, since its future is also bleak. (2 Thessalonians 1:6-9) The only haven is within true religion. How can you identify true religion?"

Good question....

Well Rick, despite the fact that that particular incident sounded somewhat staged (and the Daily Mail is not really a reputable news source) the point is still there, religion has become the burning issue of the day.

How much longer? wouldn't we all like to know... I don't see things going on much longer, like the song goes, "any day now, any day now..." I have a personal theory that something big will happen to releace the masses from the clutches of Islam, maybe the rampant secularizaion (is that a word) of the Islamic nations. In any case not long now, surely she cannot totter on the back of the beast much longer; pontificating in the same way she has for thousands of years and expecting everyone to just get on board despite the fact that the world is a very different place.

When the Harlot goes we all know what THAT means!

Governments use religions to quell the masses or stir them up. So most governments like religion as long as they can control that religion.

The US government is courting some big name preachers to help them control the masses.

So any religion that plays along will live as long as that political entity does--those that oppose it will be hunted and destroyed.

We are seeing this nation becoming a police state (I cannot speak about other nations as I am not familiar with them)--police are abusing their powers left and right and no one is saying anything--they tazed a man with disabilities because he couldn't sit down on the bus, a soccer mom in front of her children because she disagreed with him and they accused her of having drugs (because she could not produce the prescription for the bottle with her name on it), they routinely send swat teams to confiscate small farmers' goods. Taze an old man so that he has a heart attack and dies. The list goes on.

This is just acts of aggression towards normal citizens--now you throw religion in the mix and one voicing their religious freedoms and speech---that will not be tolerated much longer.

I give it two years at the rate it is going.

Well the smart ppl in gov. Knows that religion is a control system. They can get things one in the way THEY want the more ignorant and religious a society is.

America for example; There are literally ppl here who thinks that a tornado is a sign of Jesus coming back.

Secular governing bodies tend to have some Christians sitting round the cabinet table - even in secular Britain.

Not to mention the trouble they would have getting it through a legislature which also contains Christians.

You wanted "Separation of Church and State".

That means Government may not interfere in the Church.

Until religious people become the minority, they will abuse their majority privileges just like they have since religion was created.
