Is Science the answer to questions that affect our lives, especially in the realm of religion?
Scott Adams, of Dilbert fame, has made some strong points about society and faith. He has an atheist's view point, especially on free will.
But his article on science's failures which really stand out in the field of health caused him to make the following statement:
I’m pro-science because the alternatives are worse. (Example: ISIS.) I’m sure most of you are on the same side. But can we stop being surprised when people don’t believe science? Humans can’t turn off pattern recognition. There’s a good reason trust in science is low. Science failed my generation on the topic of food and exercise the same way science failed my parents generation with cigarettes.

24 個解答Religion & Spirituality7 年前Will LHC destroy many theories held sacred by the science community?
Many people put their "faith" in science. But they make assumptions that they depend on to keep that faith. One that they depend on lately is that there is a Supersymmetry which "explains" all the forces and particles in the Universe. In fact, they have hung their theories on that SUSY so much, looking for missing mass, dark energy, and dark matter, that if there is NO proof of such symmetry that their theories fall into the Black Hole of dead theories. The article will appeal to REALLY GEEKY Geeks, so if you are not one, take a pain pill afterwards for the headache that will result.

And here is the reason it is here in R&S. Many claim that all their 'theories' are supported by science, but if such a major flaw exists and proven by "Science", will their "faith" be an empty one? Won't their faith become more of a "religion" than a "science"?

This "Purple" "new and improved" YA is close to useless. So my question is serious.
For example, on the OLD YA, you had to page down 20 questions, then change to another page. End result for Yahoo? Lost of "eyes" on ads. Because when you went to a new page, it took you to the top, where the Advertisement lived. Now in the Purple, you see one ad, and never return to the top.
You can't edit an answer. Sometimes the question is complex and requires research. You have ONLY ONE CHANCE to answer.
You can't spot people that you BLOCKED in the stack of questions. I had about 50 blocked because I didn't like them. Now I have try to remember them. Plus with the Block, whenever they changed their names, the Block stayed with them.
I can't find my answers directly because I have to pick through the answers of those I marked as my contact.
YOU NEED TO GIVE AN OPT OUT OF THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE or you must be honest and just close the whole thing down.

It is bad enough that the Churches stole most of the pagan customs and dressed them up as "Christian", but now they are staging a direct effort to pull those faithful "pagans" into their grasps!!

When we read in the news the acts of violence of one religion on another, is there a breaking point that the secular governing bodies will grab at the ones who are promoting these acts?

Here in Cameroon, the President has taken action to close about 100 Pentecostal churches for their fraud committed on the communities. Will this spread? Looking at the battle in Egypt against the Muslim Brotherhood, and the possible step to outlaw it, it is clear that religion is becoming a messy problem for governments.

I have had a number of those who don't like my faith decide to block me recently. It doesn't cause me any pain, and am, in fact, Glad that my faith is a threat to their little self absorbed world.
It does annoy me a bit that then they ask questions about my faith, but they only want their own little buddies to answer. But since they do know my answers and they don't want to hear them, I get the last laugh. They are saving me time that would be wasted on them and their poison.

18 個解答Religion & Spirituality9 年前Do organ donors arrive in heaven with their body parts missing?
I see people that say that Jesus was resurrected with the gaping wounds, and I wonder if their thinking means those taken to heaven after they die and have had their organs given to others are missing them in heaven. How about the man that donated his face? Does the claim that Jesus was bodily resurrected give this chance of being true for others?
(1 Corinthians 15:42-44) 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it is raised up in incorruption. 43 It is sown in dishonor, it is raised up in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised up in power. 44 It is sown a physical body, it is raised up a spiritual body. If there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual one. . .
