I really don't believe it is political parties so much as individuals who are running for office. I believe that gays and lesbians will eventually get their rights to marriage sometime in the future. Religion and christianity are becoming obsolete in the country.(unfortunately)

I have friends who happen to vote Republican and, who are gay. While they appreciate there are those who need to be "officially" married, they have chosen to make a commitment between themselves.
