Traditional Korean names have the family name first, followed by the given name; often containing a generational syllable.

    His family name is "Kim".

His personal name is "Jong-Un", containing the generational syllable "Jong"

Don't use expressions such as 'first name', which are language- and culture-specific. Kim is his surname, Jong-un is has given name.

  • The family name is pronounced first in that country.

Yes to both questions, I assume. I know the Chinese give their surname first, then their first and middle names.

This is quite common for Asian names translated for use here in the Western world. I've known this since grade school. Are you really so poorly educated?

Wait. You're a Dump supporter. Of course you're poorly educated!

His father was Kim Jong Il, so it makes me think that Kim is a first name while Jong Il and Jong Un are last names.
