Traditional Korean names have the family name first, followed by the given name; often containing a generational syllable.
His family name is "Kim".
His personal name is "Jong-Un", containing the generational syllable "Jong"

Don't use expressions such as 'first name', which are language- and culture-specific. Kim is his surname, Jong-un is has given name.

His father was Kim Jong Il, so it makes me think that Kim is a first name while Jong Il and Jong Un are last names.
