Do you know the difference between a reputable breeder and a backyard breeder?
When looking for a good breeder of purebreds, look for these signs. Just a few helpful tips.
Ten Commandments of a Reputable Breeder
1. The Reputable Breeder places puppies/dogs by contract.
2. The Reputable Breeder places puppies/dogs with a health guarantee.
3. The Reputable Breeder insists and contracts the return of a puppy/dog should the purchaser be unable to keep the puppy/dog.
4. The Reputable Breeder carefully interviews prospective owners and has specific requirements that are to be met IE; puppy/dog is to be altered if the breeder is not already practicing early altering, etc.
5. The Reputable Breeder is willing and able to educate the novice. He/she happily answers any/all questions regarding the breed and his/her breeding program.
6. The Reputable Breeder insists on being informed of any health, genetic, or behavioral problems the dog may develop in it’s lifetime.
7. The Reputable Breeder does not have more dogs/puppies then he/she is able to keep clean, healthy and well socialized.
8. The Reputable Breeder spends individual time with each of his dogs/puppies.
9. The Reputable Breeder is very concerned with excellent temperament in his/her dog/puppies as well as excellent health.
10. The Reputable Breeder makes him/herself available for advice and help to other breeders, and throughout the life of the dog he/she has placed.
If the breeder doesn't do this, then don't waste your time/money with that person.

You forgot an important one. When looking at puppies ask to see, you must see, the results of
the parents OFA ( Orthopedic Foundation for Animals ) scores for
hips, elbows and patella. Also ask to see the CERF ( Canine Eye
Registration Foundation) BAER (hearing) and Cardiac results. Do
not accept any excuses for not having them a reputable breeder
can show you. They can also trace the parents lineagefor several
generations. If the sire was off site they will still have the proof.
They can provide a pedigree of the pup. Not just registration papers.
Pedigree means they can list at least three generations back from
the pup. They can tell you the pro's and cons of the breed.

I don't have anything to add that hasn't already been added, though something does make me wonder.....
Why some users are hashed with TDs without a GOOD explanation or reason why....
I will suggest those who find this anonymous and childish sh*t satisfying, to hopefully grow some balls in the near future.
Someone please answer me, and tell me why this is so, I'm simply curious.......

You're speaking to the choir with this as puppy and dog buyers on the whole really don't give a darn.
Good one, Mickey D
Goodness, I hope the "greek" isn't a breeder

Totally agree with the other two answers.

Do you know that the vast majority of what you posted is utter horseshit? Do you know that because of such horseshit idiots start believing in things that don't exist? To wit..
No REAL breeder, and by that, I mean a WORKING dog breeder, not the show breeders who should be jailed for breeding what they do, places or insists upon any contract. It takes huge balls to ask for 3K and then start demanding crap on what is now someone Else's property.
REAL breeders will guarantee the puppy is healthy AT THE TIME of pick up, end of. They will offer to exchange the dog should it develop problems like hips, but, how does anyone control anything else in that dog's life once its gone is beyond me.
Real breeders do NOT want back something they sold because they have no idea what you did with it when you had it and it may now be useless for anything else. You bought it, you either keep it or sell it.
REAL breeders expect YOU, as the buyer, to do your homework and KNOW what you want and what you need before you show up or call, end of. They will ask you what you need and present you with what they think is the best possible option. They do NOT require any fixing of any dog because they are not idiots who "want to protect their useless lines" and stop anyone else from breeding and therefore making any money instead of them.
As far as educating, look above answer.
I agree with you on number 6, its important for future breeding's.
I agree with you on number 7 as well, as long as you have enough kennels and kennel help, you are good.
Number 8, 9 and 10 are good. Learn what a REAL breeder is, then re post.
