Yes. He lost the republican primary race to John McCain. He was thought to have had a good chance at it but Romney blew it miserably. Many of the same campaign claims came up then, not releasing his tax returns, really the same platform, etc. z

Losing an election doesn't mean you can't run again. Reagan lost to Ford, Nixon lost to Kennedy, George H. W. Bush lost to Reagan, and Cleveland lost to Harrison. All of them went on to be elected President in later elections.

Yep but that is really meaningless. I think Romney is staying close by virtue of the economy. I think Romney will make the US economy worse however. But once Mitt has to debate President Obama it will be over. That silver spoon in his mouth really gets in his way!

Yes, but that isn't uncommon since lots of candidates have more than one run at the Presidency. LOL!
