We are meant to multiply and replenish the earth only within the bonds of marriage, otherwise it is selfish and giving in to the natural man, which should be overcome to become more spiritual.

"Be fruitful and multiply" was commanded by God in the OT when they're weren't that many people. I believe that command was fulfilled a long time ago. We have enough people now.

maybe if you see that everyone is unfruitful to God and just multiplying you will see why paul says those that desire the world do not have much of God in them for they are doing things of the world.
