Does belief in Evolution mean no belief in God?

Did Evolution just come into being? Or did someone create the evolutionary process?

No, if you ask a religious evolutionist, you will find that he believes that God created evolution to allow species to adapt to their every changing environment.

There is some middle ground here. What's commonly referred to as "controlled evolution".

The implication being that a higher power used the process of evolution to bring the world into being, and populate it with life.

It's a little easier place to think than the pure creationists who believe exactly as the Bible states, that the earth and all that exists was created within 7 days, and the pure evolutionists who would have you believe that there is no higher being what so ever, and that the process happened entirely on chance.

Myself, I subscribe to the the controlled evolution theory. I do believe that God created all, but I think that the time taken was lost in translation between God and Man.

Belief in God existed long before Evolution..and the only point of contact in the historical Christian creeds is the part "God the Father the Almighty, the creator of heaven and earth' but there is no mention of a mechanism. The Evolution - Faith argument is a red herring.

No, it doesn't. Every articulation of 'Evolution' that I've read has been a more or less complicated theory of change within a more or less orderly universe.

The one I'm working through now (Gould's "Enormously Thick Last Book") has not so far challenged my belief in [my gods]. I don't expect that it will, either. It treats with questions of perceived change in theoretical objects like 'species,' and 'clades.' It doesn't treat with 'where does the universe come from, and who wrote the rules?' Those questions practically BEG for 'god' or 'something godlike,' or 'the Force,' or 'maybe I should go on a taco run,' and Gould (who is still dead) wisely has avoided them so far in my reading.

'Belief in Evolution' is not necessarily incompatible with a belief in 'God,' if your conception of the latter isn't of a meddlesome and fretful Being, who cheats His Own Rules.

(One of my conceptions of 'God' is that 'the universe' is no more than a kind of Solitaire. 'God' knows the rules of the game, and, being an honest God, He doesn't cheat. When this game--to a Being with Lots Of Time on His Tentacles, our universe is just a pastime--is over, He'll deal another.

Others, though, perhaps styling their conception of God after their own predilections, have Him fiddling about outside His Rules. But I'm far too polite to point that out in public discussions with such people.)

Real evolution is evolution of the soul, not the bodies. Darwin had an idea, but it is incomplete. Scientists have already proven his theory wrong. Read Forbidden Archeology and The Hidden History of the Human Race by Michael A. Cremo. The Soul evolves through 8,400,000 species of life. (aquatics, plants, insects, birds, reptiles, animals, etc. Then finally one comes to the human form of life. This is the only form that is equipped to question their existence and realize the Absolute Truth and realize their eternal relationship with God. All other species are just living out their material desires and karma. Animals, eat sleep, mate and defend as do humans. But we can get out of this predicament of material existence. This science comes from God namely Veda Visa (Viasadeva) who is an incarnation of Lord Krishna who came to give the Vedic sciences and wisdom. Man created the mundane idea of evolution and it is sad they brainwash the children with such speculation. The Science of the Vedas is perfect and complete as long as you read the authorized commentary. Such as A. C. Bhaktivedanta Prabhupadadas, who is in a pure disciplic unbroken lineage steaming all the way From Lord Krishna Himself. This is the only bonafide way to receive this Sublime message and Truth. Thank you.

People seem to think so Most anti-evolution people are really pro God but I think that Genesis explanation and the evolution theory sound a lot alike A big force made things one at a time first there was fire then water then animals then man who named the animals..(That's me simplifying my science book as much as possible)The only difference is a time frame but don't they say that one day to God is like 1000 years on earth? I thought I heard that once..Time is something man made up not God...for him your life happens in a blink of an eye..I never really got why people fight so much about it when in the end if you break both up to their simplest form they are really saying the same thing..So what scientist don't use the word God to explain why things happen? God did it ..A mysterious force no one is really certain about did it..Same thing really...They just use different words to describe the same thing..I think (and I've thought this since I was about ten years old) God made evolution happen...

資料來源: God told me that you guys should chillax and stop fighting..and yes God talks like that he can talk however he wants. He is God :P

no evolution is fact. There is no doubting it happened because it still happens today. Evolution is the change of allele frequencies over time. I still believe that God created the world and all of the organisms in it.

Evolution has mechanisms that drive it like natural selection, genetic drift, mutations, etc. Most people have no idea what evolution really is. Take a college biology class please society.

the big debate is the starting point of the world. Whether it was a "big bang" or created. I personally think no matter how much time you let some rocks it out, they will always be rocks.

I guess that all depends on what the word 'God' symbolizes for you and if that symbol is capable of incorporating a theoretical concept such as scientific evolution.

If your symbol of God is a gray bearded giant sitting on a throne in the clouds that magically brought everything forward 8000 years ago with the snap of his finger then you may have a problem with evolution.

If you read Genesis as an allegory and look deeply at its symbolic language you may find room.

You are the only one creating your belief system.

No, the two can be, and really should be mutually exclusive. I don't understand why people can't think that God knew what he was doing when He began creation, and why they can't just see evolution as the common process of growth and change. It happens in all things, not just with one celled animals to human beings, stop and think about the evolution of electronic devices as an example.

Based on the fossil evidence, evolution can be explained. The belief in God can be explained by looking at the archeological evidence of our primitive ancestors and researching the primitive limbic system of our brains (the place where our irrational belief system resides). Neuroscientists can now artificially trigger a 'religious experience' or 'presence' by probing certain areas of the limbic system.

Okay,if people would just wake up and look at the empirical evidence of there having been a process through which mankind evolved from the lower forms of life, and thus were able to think for ourselves without dogma getting in the way of common sense, how is life itself any less a miracle becuase it took billions of years and not seven days?Creationists are scary because they seem to want us all to plunge back into the dark ages where it was heresy to believe that The Sun,not The Earth was the center of our planetary system.I'm just saying...
