This is not a task from my school, I'm just wondering if it can be done. Is it possible that if you had a transparent closed container (like a thermometer) which internal dimensions are 1 m wide, 1 mm thick and 200 m high (or infinite if you like), and you fill with 1 cm mercury (20 degrees Celsius). How much heat can you apply (suppose that the container can withstand a lot of heat) so the molecules of mercury spread so much it becomes transparent?

It's a question from physics (system dynamics), but essentially its some basic math. (L is a constant, omega is angular speed, also constant), x is derived by t, ie time.

x'' = (7*L/12) * [omega]^2 * cos([omega]*t)

all starting conditions were 0 (x'_o= 0, x_o=0 - starting speed and position were 0)

The answer should be x = (7*L/12) * (1- cos([omega]*t)). I need the steps in between.

2nd question (C is const)

x'' = C * (r* [omega]^2 /4 )* sin ([omega] *t/2)

answer is

x = C * (r* [omega]t /2 - r* sin ([omega] *t/2)

and I need the steps in between.

Intel i5 760 (Socket 11)+ GeForce GTS 450 1GB or an AMD (price equivalent) Phenom II X6 + Radeon equivalent, both machines have with 4gb RAM. I mainly plan to use it for CAD (Auto CAD and Solidworks), Math (Matlab Control toolbox), programming (PHP, Java, C#) and running virtual web servers on Sun Virtualbox (PHP,MySQL, maybe JP JSP on linux/unix or windows test servers). I also have good base knowledge in Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator & Flash). You don't have to be expert in every of these fields to answer, you can answer for any of these individually.

How can I get the cattails plant for the garden?

I need a birthday reminder for my phone, I keep forgetting friends and family's birthday dates. I add em next to contact info as a birthday date, but my phone doesn't have any installed software that gives me "a heads up" for the event.

Explain what is wrong with this solution (I know the answer just need to see if you do :P)

a^2-a^2=a^2-a^2

so

a*(a-a)=(a-a)*(a+a) / the whole equation gets divided by (a-a)

and then

a= (a+a)

a=2a

1=2

And also if anyone knows some other funny math problems please do post :)
