Honestly, if my crush asked me if I liked her, I'd probably say no too, unless I knew she felt the same way. And he might have wanted to be careful about what he said in public because his gf could find out. I agree, it seems like he might like you, but there is not much you can do as long as he's with his girlfriend. I'd wait until he says something romantic-like to you again, and then call him out on it, and tell him that you refuse to be with him until he breaks up with his girlfriend. You may also want to try to make him jealous somehow, but save that card unless you feel you need to play it.
