Serious Question, for reals, I'm just curious: how many people (don't care what you believe) have actually read the Bible?
I see so many people quoting all kinds of random Biblical texts. I am just wondering how many people have actually read the entire thing. I read the Old Testament as a kid, because the stories were interesting, for example.
I'm not trying to disrespect anyone here, I just want an idea of the situation. I'm not going to argue with anyone by the way. Perhaps most of you really read the Bible and in that case, ok.
Looking forward to hear from you.
Just an update, happy to see so many answers. But I wonder how I can award someone best answer for this, as all answers are equally good since I was asking for experiences.

I have. Fairly recently (a few years ago), specifically so I could be sure I had read it all.
Most of it was familiar. I was raised in a missionary family, and for quite a while we read the Bible at the table after supper, and I had systematically read quite a bit at various times--but I had to make a new effort just to make sure how much, if any, I had missed.
I had tried before, and discovered it was easy to bog down if I tried to read straight through. So this time I systematically alternated between Old and New Testaments, just keeping track of which parts I had read. When I ran out of New Testament books, I continued with the material we Protestants call (inaccurately) the Apocrypha, so I've covered the entire Catholic Bible and much of the additional material that's in Orthodox Bibles as well.
It took me about seven months, with one major afternoon/early evening reading session a week, tackling whole books or groups of shorter books, and finishing what I'd started the next day if I got interrupted before completing it.

I read the Bible from cover to cover when I was a teenager. I was very religious. Even when I wasn't reading the whole thing, I read it almost every day and attended Bible studies through college. I went to a Christian college and took several Bible classes as well. Now I'm an atheist, and reading too much of the Bible is a big part of the reason.

I've read the Bible cover-to-cover five times, roughly once a decade, the most recent being a couple of years ago, and of course single passages more often than that. Two of those readings were as a Christian (one child, one adult), one or two as an agnostic, and one or two as an atheist, depending on how and when that transition occurred, of which I'm not sure of myself. The fact is that there is a great deal of text in the Bible, and unless someone devotes themselves nearly full time to it, there aren't many people who can quote chapter and verse past the commonest (e.g. John 3:16) passages. And yes, I number myself among those whose first steps toward atheism came when I realized just how much of the Bible I had to ignore in order to continue to cleave to my religious beliefs. I reread it to remind myself of that.

Several times and several versions, including the Douay, King James and New English Bible. I've also got a Welsh language version, but I haven't read that cover-to-cover, just extracts.

I have more than once. The bible is Jehovah's word & he wants us to learn about him & what he wants from us. Reading the bible more than once you see something you may have missed before or get more insight to a scripture you didn't understand before. King David spoke of Jah's reminders in the Psalms & Jesus read & quoted from it numerous of times & found joy in doing so. If the perfect son of Jehovah thought it good to read & learn from his Father's word the bible often why shouldn't imperfect humans who need constant reminders in what Jah views as his instructions for us?

I have.
I read it a number of times while a teenager, and have read it twice as an adult. I have also read the Quran several times (in two different translations), as well as the book of Mormon.
I originally thought the bible to be an interesting story, but even as a child, I knew it was nothing more than mythology, and I often compared it to the Greek story of the Trojan War.

I have read it front to back maybe 4 or 5 times. When there is a debate about a particular section I will look up that section and read the surrounding context as well. The problem with "quoters" is they often ignore the surrounding text which can change the meaning of what is being presented. they often also ignore historical context too.

Reading is one thing. Studying is another. They are not just stories, but gems to be examined. Dialogues so you can know how men think, what they did wrong or right, who God is, what does He expect, is He merciful, etc. If one just reads or just listens to what others say, then he has no real idea of what he believes to be true.

I've read the entire thing.
Nicely put, it's utter horse sh*t.

Me. Once when I was 22 to improve my English. A horrible and pointless exercise, but I did it. Lord of the Rings made more sense
