Am I SEVERELY DEPRESSED?

I cry myself to sleep every night.

I've lost 5 kg in 2 months just due to stress.

I'm 15.

I want to kill myself. I don't want to live. I want to die. The only problem is that I don't want to hurt my mom.

Yes you are. I know because I have been severely depressed for many years and attempted suicide once. I suggest that you consult in a friend or your mom, because you can't get better by yourself. I consulted in my sister a month ago and immediately things started to get better. Go to a counselor or therapist because they can help you through it. Or call the national suicide prevention hotline. What helped me was getting what was making me depressed out of my life. It was my dad that was making me depressed but now that he's gone i'm much better. If it's your friends or people at school or anything else, do the same. Yes, it will hurt at first, and i still miss my dad everyday despite everything that has happened, but it's better than hating myself and everything else. Trust me, I know it's cliche, but things will get better. Once your out of highschool you can move or go to college, and everything that made you feel down won't matter anymore. Also, I learned that you can'y have a happy life if you think negatively. Please, don't kill yourself, you still have so much life yet to turn things around. Just know that you are not alone, and that you are so much stronger than most people. Bless you and please get help :) xx.

Hi there. Thanks for reaching out. It seems like you are experiencing some symptoms. Things are bad right now but you can get help! Talk to your parents or other trusted adults such as a school counselor or favorite teacher. Suicide is never the answer to any problem. Wish you the best!

Why don't you talk to your mom about your depression? You might benefit from medication, therapy or a change at school.

In my opinion, a problem shared is a problem cared.

Your mother will actually be really proud of you for opening up to her, so I urge you to tell her.

You could also confide in trusted friends and health care professionals. But your mother is your closest friend - she will worry about you, but that's because she loves you.
