BSOD, hardware failure?
initially i got 2-3 blue screens before my computer went bad completely, no i cannot even install windows as even before install screen BSOD appears and computer restarts, when i ran memtest it said 'unexpected interrupt--halting cpu 0' at test#7 68%. what the issue? is it cpu or motherboard or ram, i had 2 rams tested both, problem not solved. could it be psu?
its core2duo(6 yr old), ddr2 ram, msi g31-p21(4 year old),

Every BSOD has a STOP code, which indicates which drive or component has failed, without knowing that, diagnosing is only guesswork.

A few possible reasons I can think of:
- Capacitors on the motherboard are inflated or popped. If so, replace them.
- Unstable or under powered PSU which craps out when loaded.
- Faulty ram (test 1 piece at a time to isolate the problem).
- Faulty ram slot (test 1 slot at a time to isolate the problem).
- Faulty CPU (highly unlikely).
- Deteriorated thermal compound (just reapply it).
- ???
