betrayed by family?

my mom has a business which i went through thick and thin with her since over 10 years ago , then one day my sister needed a part time job for extra income so she asked for couple days a week and i agreed, soon after she said the business is doing well how about let her work here full time , i agreed then a few months later she asked my mom so her name can be in one of the business owner , my mom decided it would be great that we work together as a 2nd generation so she put both our names in as owner and step down. well fast forward to now my sister no longer show up at work , she pretty just go shopping and do whatever she want , i have to do everything and if i hire more help we would be close to losing our profit , when i complained she said well , we can sell the place and split the money or if u wanna keep it just buy me out.  I feel so betrayed by both my mom and my sister. when business were bad i was the one carrying everything , when we were about to be shut down because my mom forgot to do certain insurance i was the one running doing all the work , when we're at our lowest point of our life i was doing everything so we didnt lose the house , the restaurant and our business license , my sister never did anything , she said she didnt want to get involve because its small and she think its gonna fail anyways but when it's doing well she came in and asked to be in on it , i did all the work but since we're siblings i didnt mind but i really think she betrayed me

Legally this was mom's business.  If mom leaves the business to her kids - standard legal practice is that you both get half (I'm assuming there are no other children).

If your sister isn't showing the same committed to the restaurant, cut your losses and get her out of your hair. Sell it. Sell it now!  Let her have her money.  Focus strongly on the fact that you also GET YOUR OWN MONEY from this sale - which you can invest in a smaller restaurant, making exactly the same food as you've always been doing. YOU know that part of the restaurant business inside and out - you found out the hard way.

It may take a few years to rebuild - but guess who isn't going to be coming back to ask for their share? If your sis has a shopping habit, I reckon she'll quickly get through whatever cash she happens to get. She's had her cash... she can't have it twice, can she?

The other option is to buy your sister out of the company.  I'm sure she'll still go shopping and spend her loot.  What will she do when the money runs out?  Will she come to you and ask you to support her?

I don't see your mom as having betrayed you.  You have learned a very valuable skill which you can use to build a restaurant - what can your sister do?  Do you think she has the wit and the wisdom to start her own restaurant??? I don't - coz she never bothered to find out.  If your sister betrayed anyone, it was herself.  By not following the same path that you have walked, she knows next to nothing about making money - only spending it.

You be been screwed over. What I would do is spend so e time looking for a loophole so you can take the business for yourself then once u completely know what to do POUNCE do it all at once so fast they can't react. This is unfortunately e only way your gonna save your business

Let her know how you are feeling and the reason why you care so much for the business, even the coldest person has a heart you just have to help thaw it ;P
