If a human is smoking constantly around a cat (that he owns) can it affect the cat in the same ways it affects humans?

Yes. Cigarette smoke will affect them much more than humans. The reason being that smoke first goes up but then always goes down. You don`t see it but all that smoke settles to the ground where they live and it`s accumulates there in much denser concentrations.
Most house pets will get cancers, lung disease etc from their smoking owners and much sooner than they would expect.

Yes. Cats are just as subject to respiratory disorders resulting from second hand smoke as humans are. If you care at all about your cats don't smoke in the house. Your house will smell nicer as well.

second hand smoke impacts animals and people better than the guy who smokes. I really ought to freeze my *** off in wintertime as I smoke outdoors on the veranda. I do it for my cats yet also for my sons. My oldest is a health freak and does routines so he does no longer want his lungs damaged and no human being yet me smokes. at the same time as i bypass to my mothers and fathers, i bypass smoke contained in the storage:( All smoke loose properties!

Yes it can. Dirty air isn't good for any species.
