get the money back from levy?

On friday 12/16/2011 my bank had been levy , i want to pay the debt but i dont have the one lump sum to do so, its the total of $6,100 include court fee , origina debt was $1,600 but the debt collector bought it and kept charging interest , what should i do at this point? there must be some kind of form to get the levy lift , thanks

Find out what your rights are under bankruptcy protection from a bankruptcy law office.  Filing a bankruptcy can wipe out all of the debt and immediately stop wage garnishments or bank levies. Unless you can show the money in the account was exempt from a levy, you are stuck.

Exempt items include social security payments.  Your state may exempt additional amounts.
