Medicare coverage while driving?
My auto liability insurance policy does not contain personal injury protection for myself. I have medicare A & B and AARP supplemental coverage. Will medicare deny me benefits if I'm injured while driving my car? I can't get an understandable answer by calling medicare....

Yes it will be denied. By law, Medicare is NOT the payer of first resort in liability cases. They may cover you pending documentation that your injury was not the result of an accident or if it would prevent you from being treated. Medicare is also not the first pay or if you have insurance through a job or COBRA. In those three incidents, acts as a supplement would, paying AFTER your car insurance, work insurance or COBRA insurance pays. You cannot use Medicare as personal injury protection.
