Fellow Christians, can you explain something to me?

For example, if someone is a Christian until they are age 30 or so, and then they decide to reject God, and then become atheist, are they still saved? Is there a once a Christian always a Christian belief. Or does rejecting him mean that it was like you never were a Christian at all. My basic question is, using scripture, tell me if the above person would go to Heaven or Hell.

People who would find it funny to reply in a rude manner, by saying there is no God, or Heaven doesn't exist. Saying these things makes me want to believe you less. Thanks to all serious answers!

Ezekiel answered that question. He explained that if a person believes in God and obeys him, but then rejects God, then all the good he did will be totally forgotten. Likewise, if a person rejects God all his life, and then one day repents and obeys God, then all the bad things he did will be totally forgotten.

This is somewhat paraphrased, but I trust it makes sense, because this is what God said through Ezekiel. In other words, "Once-saved-always-saved" is wrong, according to God.

Oh, by the way - good question. :-)

Ok, sooo the Bible talks about blaspheming against the Lord being the one "unforgivable" sin. I believe that if you are once truly saved and live the life the Lord wants you to by following His word and His plan and asking for forgiveness in your everyday life you will "always be a Christian" but there is a way when you can "back slide" and be in the darkness with out technically blaspheming against the Lord but you better repent or you wont make it to heaven but then again there is the "Saved by Grace" thing which is pretty much saying if you mess up once and all of a sudden die but before the mess up you were living the way God wanted you to, you will still make it to heaven... sorry Im so confusing...

No, this person is no longer "saved". If they were to die today, I do not believe they would go to heaven. "Deny my name and I will deny you..." It doesn't necessarily mean that this person wasn't a Christian before, [assuming they lived the life they were supposed to] it just means that they lost their site. They let others deceive them and fell away.

Again, sorry my answer was so confusing, my mind was just going through a million different things at once haha

A hundred and fifty years in the past many church buildings had a purpose to provide an explanation for racial variations. Some of those myths followed by means of character Mormons, and taught as doctrine. There was once no precise foundation in scripture for this. These excuses don't practice and not ever carried out. What I discover first rate is how the hand of the Lord was once upon the Church to deliver approximately difference. The Church recommended civil rights within the Nineteen Sixties. The Prophet with the entire aid of the Quorum of the Twelve multiplied the Priesthood and temple blessing to all participants. Why no longer faster is the truly query. The simplest reply I have heard was once that we weren't capable. Heavenly Father had a agenda. When we, the participants, had been all set to to reside a greater legislation, it was once given to us.

Read Hebrews chapter 6. Also Proverbs 1:22-33.

A TRUE Christian will not "fall away" and ultimately reject Christ. They are sealed by and with the Holy Spirit. There are many posers in Christianity...The Bible calls that the difference between the wheat and the tares. It also speaks of this in the parable of seed falling on different types of soil in Mark 4:3-20.

The Word tells us that He will never forsake you, but The Word is just as clear that if YOU turn away, and go back into the world, buddy, your toast. Lots of darkness, extreme pain, gnashing and grinding of teeth, you are very much aware of the drill. Good luck with all that! Revelation tells ya that the "lukewarm will be "spit"out. Matt also tells ya that if there is unforgivness, The Father will NOT forgive you, Straight is the path, narrow is the way, and few will find it! So many others. That is why everyone NEEDS to read, and study their "human" owners manual!!

god is forgiving, but i hope u meen wen u say rejecting, that u just slowly lost time to pray, go to church, and think about it altogether, not that u decided that god was there but u didnt want him around. god loves us all, unconditionally, so when you are distanced from him, he watches u move way, but he waits for u so he can embrace you and bring u into his home again. but its up to u to return to his home (aka. heaven). all he wants u to do is good deeds for others, if u are gone from him, u can do all the good u want, he will know what u do, and probably swell with pride and love, but u arnt there to recieve his love.

if the rejection is due to lack of evidence, with atheist are meant to use to disprove superstitions through reason- than all hav a web site showing the validity of jesus and his goodness, and his over all affect on the world. there is no way to disprove his crucifixion or resurection. just let the person realize god and his love for him, ther should be emotion if he looks at the situation right.

There is no once saved always saved, so they would go to hell. If you reject Christ then He will reject you. And another thing if they were an atheist then they wouldn't care if they were saved because they don't believe in God. Hope that helped.

I believe the answer is found in Hebrews 6:4-6. People can reach a point where they can no longer find a place of repentance. I believe this would have to be tied in to the one sin Jesus said could not be forgiven. Clearly, this is not a sin that just anyone could commit. Knowledge of good vs. evil is necessary for sin to be counted... and the people described in Heb. 6 had full knowledge of salvation and the things of God, but fell away from it, and as a result, could not come back to it.

I don't think this is the same as backsliding... people have backslidden for decades and then come back to God and lived for Him. This is different, a full rejection of the Holy Ghost and power, resulting in becoming reprobate.

im a christian that believes in you can be saved but you can also fall out of grace. you have to work hard to mantain a relationship with god. take your father for example. if he were a wealthy man and left his mansion to you in his will but you denied your brother and left your family you shouldnt be surprised when he cuts you out the will. same with god if you find grace but then live a life that denies christ as your saviour why would you think any different

i have been reading what some others have been putting on here and also wanted to point out that they say "once you turn away from him after knowin grace your goin to hell" don't believe that there is a parable that jesus told that talked about the lost son that went away but came back and and they all rejoiced. its never to late to ask for forgivness

Matthew 7:1, "Do not judge, or you too will be judged."

Think of it not as a warning but as a reminder of how fallible the judgment of men can be. We lack both wisdom and authority. It's really not possible to give you an answer with any authority since only God can judge a man's soul. I can present all kinds of arguments that portray God's judgment as one way or the other. "God is merciful." "God is vengeful." "God is love." "God is jealous." In the end it boils down to nothing that we can base an informed opinion on. Such debates are futile, but I think that verse reminds us that one should be more concerned about their own salvation than that of others.
