If you think it, is that the same as having actually done it?

Give reasons for your negative or affirmative.

Does a portion of this scripture mean virtually the same thing?

" 23:6 Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:

23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

23:8 The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet words."

You guys don't get it. You can have murder in your heart and not do it. You can have murder in your heart and then commit it. It doesn't happen unless you're first guilty in the heart, right? Funny answers anyhow!

I dont know about the scripture part - but no. I dont think the intention is as meaningful or important as the actual doing. The thought does count when you actively try and achieve whatever it is.

I think that if I go to a gasoline station and someone is going to rob me while I'm pumping gas, I would pull the nozzle out of the car and juice them down and then light their fire.

Now mind you, I've only thought it. Not the same as doing it.

  • Sorry, Bible-quoting doesn't prove anything. If you were quoting some bits that presented logical arguments as to why considering something is just as bad as doing it, then we'd be getting somewhere.

If anything, it is *moral* to think of something and not do it, because not doing it means that you recognize that it is immoral. Right?

By the way, I emailed you :D

    no.

    every action involves a reaction.

no action and no reaction, get it?

thinking something has much different consequences as actually doing it, therefore, by the resulting consequence or lack thereof, we can conclude they are not the same.

this passage is a metaphor and not to be taken literally.
