Jamesons whiskey?
Hmm, I spent 30 bucks for a liter of jamesons and I am not sure how I should go about drinking it. I typically am a vodka man, or perhaps a bit of rum here and there and always take shots- never make mixed drinks or have beer.
Since it is only a liter and it was over 10 dollars more than my smirnoff vodka 1.75, I was wondering if there was a better way to drink it. Perhaps straight at room temperature or on ice? I also have baileys and bacardi 151, any good mixes there with just those ingredients (not like irish carbombs or anything like that)
I haven't opened it yet, but I am pretty bored right now so I think I might give it a chance.
To the second poster- can I make a drink with a mixture of the baileys and the whiskey? not a shot, but like a glass full?
mm coffee would be pretty nice.
To the one guy that suggested adding water to it for the aroma etc- I suffer from congenital anosmia- meaning that I have no sense of smell, and never have had one =/
Okay, so I am going to try it in a glass for now. Maybe add some ice if it is too harsh =p
One other thing- I guess the cap stripped, I am trying to tighten it but it won't stay on. First time opening the bottle too =/

I would make an Irish cream with the Jameson's and the Bailey's.
Jameson's is great in coffee.
So is Bailey's for that matter.
Or slam three shots at room temperature, after that I don't think much else will really matter other than taking another shot.
資料來源: Note: Heck yeah! Take some Jameson's,some Bailey's, and a litlle milk or coffee (or both) and stir with ice. Should taste pretty good. Especially if you adhere to the three shots as a starter! - 匿名1 十年前
Yeah it is served straight but you have some hope.
Whiskey connoisseurs often add water to the whiskey diluting and thus making it more palatable. The are reasons for this.
Water is a polar compound and alcohol slightly polar. Their interactions causes the compounds we call aromatics to be released. This gives rise to sensory evaluations (trigeminal senses). So, by tasting the whiskey and smelling the "vapors" you can enjoy those characteristics that define that beverage. In "quality" whiskeys it is not uncommon to detect aromas &/or flavors of vanilla, smoke, cherry, caramel, etc.
You may dilute as much as you want but first start with only a small amount. Try the beverage tasting and smelling it. Then increase the water slightly until it is palatable for you.
Most people that want mixed drinks usually by bourbon or a blended-nonaged whiskey. JD, Beam, Old Crow, even Bushmills.
But when you begin to invest $30 or more $$ into you can be sure it is a drinking and not a mixing whiskey.
Q: Is it Scotch. If so do not tell a soul if you mix w/ it; very taboo.
Bottom line it is yours so work with to find what you enjoy best. I like whiskey sours on occasion.

Don't Put Jameson's in Coke!!!!
That's a waste of Great Whiskey!!! That's what that Jack Daniels Crap is for... Mixing!
What you need to do is put that bottle of Jamesons in the Freezer! Yes, Freezer! It won't freeze because there's too much alcohol.
Once the bottle has been there for a couple hours, put a couple ice cubes in a glass, tumbler, whatever and pour it right onto the ice.
The freezing liqour doesn't water down the Jamesons. Enjoy, I think I'll go have one now too!!!
And if you're looking for a damn good rum... You gotta get Sailor Jerry's Spiced Rum!!!
The stuff is 46% alcohol and has a cherry taste to it! This stuff you can mix and it only makes it better instead of ruining the liqour taste. It's strong, but great in white grape juice or 7up.
Good Luck!!!!

Mmm. I'm a whiskey girl, but usually drink Jack. Jameson, which is Irish, is milder - doesn't have a bite. And Windsor, which may possibly be cheaper than Jameson and is Canadian, is very mild and almost sweet, but I think has a rotten aftertaste.
Anyway, Jameson is good, just like Jack, mixed with Coke. Or, like one other respondent said, you can attempt drinking it straight, though I always need at least *some* Coke in mine.
The whiskeys are simple like that. No time, no hassle. Just Coke.
When I'm careful and don't take shots of it, I've rarely gotten a hangover from whiskey - Jack, at least. Of course, I don't get like piss drunk. Any time you get piss drunk, the hangover is unavoidable, but still. Less sick = good!

An Irish Coffee. Pour an oz. of baileys & an oz of the Jameson into a mug. Fill with coffee & top it off with whipped cream. Traditionally, you'd then top the whipped cream off with a splash of green creme de menthe, but you don't have it, so don't worry about it. Hope this helps.

Jameson's is Irish whiskey.
Put on your Tam O'Shanter and have a shot straight up.
If you must mix, an Irish Coffee is coffee with Jameson's.
Jameson's and Coke works but doesn't get high marks for sophistication.
Cheers!

LOLZ. Didja know that in Egypt you can't buy sneakers made in Israel? Catholics and Protestants come up with the nuttiest and nastiest reasons to set themselves apart. The priest who married my parents wouldn't let my mother's best friend be the maid of honor because she was a Protestant.

If you can't enjoy the whiskey on its own, there's no point in wasting the money. Sip it, roll it around in your mouth like wine and try to understand what you're tasting. Then move on to good Scotch.
