Happy Scally

Our wildlife pond has a grey-white film on it. There was a community bonfire a kilometre away a couple of weeks ago, so we think it is fallen ash from that.

We think it should be removed, but how can we do it?

(It is late autumn here, though it has been unseasonably warm.)

Is the cause something to do with molecular biology, or the environment? Life would be interesting if, say, there were mammals that could change shape.

Are they like motor racing tires, where slicks give the best grip on a dry track? Are the treads merely to disperse rainwater? What effect does the tread have on friction (acceleration, uphill traction, braking and cornering) and rolling resistance on a dry dirt track, or a dry road?

Selective incorporation: Under what circumstances is a state government permitted by SCOTUS to opt out of a provision of the federal Bill of Rights? Since 1868, when has a state legislature, a state constitution, or a state supreme court, been permitted to overrule SCOTUS in the matter of individual rights, or make a local interpretation of the bill of rights?

There are political and moral cases on both sides, but I am interested purely in past decisions by SCOTUS, including the Supreme Court's decisions not to take a case.

I have answered several questions since then, including one of the suggested ones. Yet I pretty much see the same list of three suggested questions all the time.

Has the suggestion engine been switched off or stalled, or does this only affect my account?

By "arts", I mean the humanities, philosophy and the fine arts. In other words, creative exploration of human achievements and potential; communication of our innermost thoughts.

By "sciences", I mean the discovery of facts and the building of models that describe and predict the world.

(It is not a homework question, but one that intrigues me, as possibly getting closer to what the essence of mathematics is.)

For example, I wanted to lay out some fractions over two lines. However, most of the spaces are hidden (at least on my browser) so my answer was confusing.

Please suggest a better way

I know that prescription medicines can only be dispensed by a licensed vet or pharmacist. Online prescriptions seem much cheaper than local vets and chemists. Is there a list of reliable and ethical UK websites I can order from, other than the list at http://www.rpsgblist.org/premises.asp ?

A 'Best Answer' seems kind of hollow when you voted for it yourself.
