Why is Christ the Redeemer considered a Wonder?
It's a jolly nice statue, but how does it compare to any of the other Wonders?

We’ve already been to Europe.

1 個解答Words & Wordplay7 年前Which sentence is correct?
A) A person walks into a room and he/she sits down.
B) A person walks into a room and they sit down.
Can "they" be used in relation to a single person or is it exclusive to multiple persons? Personally I do not see any problem with sentence B. It seems natural to me. However I am unsure.
3 個解答Languages8 年前Is it inappropriate for a white person to sing 'Swing Low, Sweet Chariot' in public?
I was watching an episode of Scrubs in which they implied it was. However I don't see why that should be the case. I understand the context of the song and I remember being taught the song in choir in primary school. It was a good and meaningful song.
Does anyone agree with Scrubs? Should I not sing it in public?

I'm particularly confused about the 'looking forward'. IS that a verb, an idiom... what?
Any help would be appreciated. :)

How do you justify your answer?
note: I asked this question previously and got some fantastic and well-considered responses. I look forward to more. Unfortunately my last question was deleted for no reason (typical of YA), so I'm asking it again.

When I was first introduced to this factoid, I had an instant knee-jerk reaction to it. "Bullshit!", I said. "They're both obviously different numbers".
However now that I've looked into it a little more and corrected some of my misconceptions of mathematics, I'm quite convinced. So I was wondering, does anyone know of a flaw I might be missing?
My apologies to those who have no doubt explained this a hundred times before.

Don't be lame and pick your home. Be original and creative. :)
I'd like to live to live in Seattle. I wen't there once some years back and loved the atmosphere of the place. I also love to complain a lot and the United States is good for that.

Which grammatical class do the words 'quite' and 'abstract' belong to in the sentence: Yes, it’s quite abstract, isn’t it?
I'm quite sure they're both adjectives, but some confirmation or contradiction would be appreciated. :)

I could grow one at 18ish but many of my friends then - and even now in their early to mid twenties - cannot.

5 個解答Hair9 年前Do moderate Muslims condemn the actions of their fundamentalist counterparts?
I am referring specifically to two issues:
1) The treatment of women in some Islamic countries as second-class citizens with few rights;
2) The threats of violence and even death issued to people in western nations for exercising their freedom of speech (eg. see 'everyone draw Muhammad' day).
I do not believe I have ever heard any moderate Muslims speak out against these serious issues. If it is true that the views of Muslim fundamentalists are not as common in the greater Muslim community as many people believe, then I invite moderate Muslims to defend their poor representation in the media and in popular culture.
5 個解答Religion & Spirituality9 年前Does the report/repeal system on yahoo answers work?
I've had a few (not many) answers of mine reported in the past. A couple have been justified however some others most certainly were not. I have always repealed those I felt were not in violation of the community guidelines however I have never received a notification of the results.
I know many other people believe the report system is often abused, but has anyway ever made a successful repeal?
5 個解答Yahoo Answers9 年前When/where is it mentioned that Hawkeye is partially deaf?
I am presently doing a small project involving deaf super heroes in response to a recent story about a hearing-impared child with a love for super heroes.

I am curious as to where it is mentioned (ie. what issues or story arcs) that Hawkeye is partially deaf. Any help would be appreciated.

...or would you refuse?
To clarify, I am referencing the story of Abraham and Isaac. I realise that God stopped Abraham from actually going through with the act. However, the fact remains that Abraham was willing to go through with it and believed God was the sort of God to make such a command.
So if you would be willing if commanded by God, how do you defend such action as moral?
