So I went to the Kush Expo last night and I got a recommendation for medical marijuana. I remember this lady saying that they would put me in the system (or something like that...I was pretty baked). Anyway, I know people that have an id card with their photo on it...my question is do you need to have one to go to the dispensary or can I just bring the certificate I got with my recommendation? And if I need the id card, how do I get it? If you have any more info on it, it would be greatly appreciated :)

So...my cat is a big, FAT (33lbs) 8-year-old Turkish Van, who is normally very perky and and cuddly. He also has a notable high-pitched meow. However, in the past week, he has been ACTING normally, however his meow seems a bit hoarse and has a much lower tone to it. It sounds like he has the human equivalent of a sore throat. Does that happen to cats? I mean, I have always been able to tell if he was sick and although he's significantly overweight, he's a pretty healthy cat according to his vet. So, I'm wondering if he just has a mild sickness maybe? What could it mean?

So my mother is having a major dilemma. My mom works as a translator for a non-profit grief counseling center run privately by this one lady who never pays her on time. My mom has a strict payment schedule outlined in her contract, but supposedly last month, she accidentally overpaid her. However, this month, my mom get a letter from her saying that she wasn't going to pay her this month because it was my mom's responsibility to inform her that she was overpaid even though it was HER error. Is this legal?? I mean, they have a strict contract that specifically outlines the paying schedule for every month (including reimbursement for driving and such). Is it allowed that she dishonor their legal contract because of a slight miscalculation that my mom didn't even notice? Is anyone familiar with the California laws for compensating contracted employees that were accidentally overpaid? Because this woman owes my mom about $2500 and she's considering suing her.

So there's this guy at school that I started talking to like 2 weeks ago. He mentioned that he just broke up with this girl and I don't really know her, but I know OF her, like I've seen her and she's not really attractive (very plain) and a lot of people don't particularly care for her personality (I've heard that she's kind of a b*tch.)

Anyway, so me and this guy have been talking on facebook or texting, but I'm always the one who takes the initiative and talks to him first but he always flirts with me. Nevertheless, it's weird cause usually he ends our conversation and he's always like "it was really nice talking to you"...I mean, I don't really see him that often at school, in fact, we've only talked like ONCE in person and it was really brief cause I my ride was waiting, but that day he made note that he felt embarrassed that he finally met me in person and he didn't shave, which gave me the impression that he might consider me because he was conscious about his appearance, and he's not really the type of guy that would normally care so much about that kind of thing...

So, it would be nice to get some input on this, because it's only been two weeks and we haven't really said much IN PERSON (which does make a difference)...

Think about it. Slavery has existed since the very foundation of human civilization. Mesopotamia, Egypt, the Roman Empire, the British Empire and even the United States, all the great civilizations have prospered because of slaves.Even in modern times, slavery still exists (take Wal-Mart's exploitation of China's working class, for example). I was up last night thinking that it seems that even if the whole world were to adopt an equal, marxist-like society, someone will always be power-hungry and want to take control and if they get enough support will. But if someone prospers, someone else has to suffer and that's why there have always been slaves.What do you think? Is it possible for a country to thrive without the use of slaves?

OK, my friend Jess and have been wanting to go to see this show and today is the last day, but we didn't have a ride. We've been asking around, but there was no one until my friend Andrea said that she was going and that she could pick me up, but I didn't ask her about Jess and I don't want to because I know that Andrea isn't too fond of her. So Jess doesn't know about this and she still wants to hang out tonight and I don't want to lie to her, but I don't want to tell her that she can't come because she's not welcome.
