  • Any way to make a single action shotgun a little easier to open?

I've got a Savage Stevens 94C in 20 gauge that has seen very little use. The problem is that it is incredibly "stiff" compared to other single action guns I've owned. I flip the release and then have to force it open. It's not binding, it's just very stiff. I've taken it apart and lubed it but it's such a simple gun there's not much that I can see to do to help the situation. I don't know if this is normal for this type of gun or if there are any suggestions for improving how it opens. Any ideas?

When reloading, how clean do you get the primer pocket?

I've got a lot of "experts" on both sides of the fence. Many people don't clean their brass each time and they just do a cursory cleaning of the primer pocket. Others get everything spotless. After tumbling with stainless steel media with a little dawn and Lemi-Shine, my primer pockets come out looking pretty good. The picture below is about as bad as they ever get. If I tumble longer they get a little cleaner. What do the experts think? Good enough? Keep tumbling a little longer? Clean them by hand? Doesn't matter?

  • Are hunters aware that some of your 308, 30-30 and 223 ammo will be illegal due to the pending ATF changes?

A lot of noise has been made about the 5.56 Green Tip "ban" but I'm just curious if any hunters have heard about the impact on traditional deer hunting rounds like 308 and 30-30? They will be illegal to shoot in CA at all and any bullets that are more than 25% copper like Hornady GMX will be illegal to shoot anywhere. Why isn't anyone (other than me) aware of this?

  • What's the fascination with non-collectors and Mosin Nagants?

I've seen countless questions on Mosin Nagants and I really don't get the fascination. If you're a gun collector I can see wanting representative samples to round out a collection, but the people who ask the questions seem to be first time gun owners or first time rifle owners. Questions like: "I'm buying my first rifle and I'm looking at a Mosin Nagant" or something similar. What are they using these guns for? Just a wall hanger? Do they hunt with them? Just target practice? Just to have a gun?

I personally know no one who has purchased a Mosin Nagant so that's why I'm asking. Maybe some of you have one or know someone who has one. Again, I get that you may want one for a collection but why do non gun collectors want them? Just because they're the cheapest gun in the store?

    Clip vs. Mag?

Just curious if anyone knows the story of why Remington called their magazines "clips" for so long. Now they refer to them as "magazine clips" which is equally weird.

    http://www.remington.com/products/accessories/gun-...

I'm confident that Remington's use of the word "clip" for magazine is why so many hunters call them clips. Hunters aren't always gun enthusiasts so they just go by what the packaging says. Now we've got a generation of hunters who call magazines clips and while that ruffles the feathers of the gun enthusiast purists, it's not their fault... that' truly what Remington called them.

So.... why did Remington choose to use the word Clip for a Magazine? Anyone?

  • Competitive shooting with "regular" guns?

There are several competitive shooting clubs out there and I have no experience with any of them. I'm not interested in building a race gun or picking up special guns to do three gun competitions or anything like that, I'm just looking to go out, have a little fun with the guns I have and get a chance to improve my skills under different situations. Aside from standard hunting shotguns and rifles the guns that I would most likely use would be a 357 revolver or maybe my every day carry 9mm.

  • What is a good brand of air tool?

I'm starting a small business and for the first time I find myself in need of things like die grinders and air sanders. What is a good quality brand of air tool that will hold up to commercial use but won't break the bank?

  • Do police have to take off their sunglasses?

If you deal with a police officer anywhere, must they take off their sunglasses? Examples may be pulling you over, but what about just encountering a bike cop at an event. If you ask them to remove their glasses do they have to comply?

  • Drop Leg Holster For Revolver?

Does anyone know of a good drop leg style holster for a Dan Wesson 357 revolver (6" barrel and the frame is nearly the same size as Ruger and S&W). I carry it when I'm in the woods but the traditional cowboy style holsters all put the gun up too high for my tastes. I want it down on my leg and out of the way, especially when I'm bow hunting.

  • 34 months and he can't seem to figure out how to stop and go potty?

We're at a loss. We have two sons. The oldest son decided that he no longer wanted to go poop in his diaper about six months ago. Then exactly one week before his brother was born three months ago he transitioned entirely into underwear. HOWEVER, there's one nagging problem. For THREE MONTHS now he continues to have accidents during the day. He's had only one accident at night so we strongly suspect it's not a physical condition and there's something else going on. The thing is, he really doesn't like going potty in his underwear. He'll let out a little squeal of dismay when he has the accident, grab his crotch and then want to go to the bathroom right away.

For example today we asked him if he had to go potty and he said no. Then literally two minutes later he's squealing and grabbing his crotch and his pants are wet. He obviously doesn't like that he has an accident. Usually his accidents aren't that close to the time when we ask so we don't think it's related, but when his accident occurs within minutes of us asking, it has us wondering what's going on. Obviously he had to go to the bathroom but for some reason he either doesn't know that he has to go, or he has no control over when he goes or there's some odd emotional thing going on.

We've heard of regressing after a sibling is born, but this is going on for three months now. What can we do to get him to stop and go to the bathroom BEFORE he goes in his underwear? We've tried rewards, we've tried putting him in pull ups (which he hates), we've tried everything we can think of but nothing works. The only way we can get through a day is to make him go to the bathroom and go potty on a regular schedule even if he says he doesn't have to go. We do that for a week and then try a day on his own and as soon as we leave it up to him he ends up with soaked pants. It's very frustrating.

Beyond that, he's a very happy normal little boy.

  • Can't sign into Yahoo Mail on home computer?

I can sign into Yahoo from a work computer, just not the one I use at home. Also, other people with Yahoo accounts can sign into their e-mail from my home computer so it just seems to be something related to my account only and my home computer only. Any ideas of what I can do to fix this? I've run a full virus scan using Microsoft Security Essentials.
