calculating force of deceleration?
im calculating the force required to decelerate a car. Ive used the formula f=ma and i have ended up with a negative answer, from all the write-ups about this matter they also get a negative result from the calculations, but express the answer, in newtons, as a positive, but dont explain why or how the answer goes from a negative result to a positive one. how and why is this the case

trying to compare the mass of two universes. Now the symbol for the mass of the first universe is simple, its M_u. What about the 2nd one though, would it be M_u_2 (and if so would the first universe be M_u_1) would it be (M_u, 2) (M_u2 )(thats the one that feels the least correct) or is there a simpler way to express that there are 2 values for 2 different universes. Please could you ensure that any answers conform to SI rules and conventions, and where possible please source the information where your answer has come from. In advance, your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Not once have a piece of toast come out of my toaster with the image of Christ, the Virgin Mary, Mohammed the Flying Spaghetti Monster, nothing. Does this mean my toaster is an atheist? And if so, should I warn religious friends and family that it is an atheist toaster, so they don't eat toast from it and become Atheist as well?
Oh if my toaster did make a piece of toast with the image of Mohammad on it, how would I know?
