Is there such a service where you can give a vehicle registration number, and you can be informed whether the vehicle is still in existence.?
My first M/cycle when I came out of the RAF in 1950 was a Marston Sunbeam 350cc model 10, new machines were not available, and we had much fun together, and in her company I learnt to become a very good rider. She was eventually upgraded for a new machine when they became available. I ended up with some magnificent machines but I shall always have a soft spot for UP 6709, and I often wonder what became of her. She would now be a very rare machine being in manufacture only for one year.
Should she still be in someones loving care, do be good to her. She never ever let me down, though the sump drain plug was in a very vulnerable position. Bless her.
2 個解答Other - Society & Culture2 年前When we use a ' dead' language, such as Latin, is our knowledge of it fluent, or is it just text book stuff ?
With an interest in history I would have loved to learn Latin, but my education did not include such niceties. However I have realised that even in the politest societies the need to forcibly express yourself at times must have frequently arisen, and so it is inconcievable that phrases such as the request to 'go and screw yourself 'did not exist..
Do we know precisely the the Latin term for F*** Off, and 'Up your A***.which must have been in common usage.
Could also bee very handy for usage in very polite society today for those lacking the common touch.
