  • Is it pointless to ask questions, if the answer is all around us?

Do questions lead to truth? Why do we ask them? Are they necessary or should we stop questioning entirely?

  • How is it that the universe is expanding faster than the speed of light?

From what I understand of relativistic physics, the speed of light is constant in all inertial frames of reference. How then can something be moving faster than c? Isn't there also a spacetime dilation with something moving at close to the speed of light? How is spacetime affected with something traveling faster than the speed of light (which it seems spacetime is doing with dark energy.)

If I am understanding these Lorentz transformations properly, at the speed of light... space and time distortion become so immense that distance traveled and time experienced reaches 0. Meaning light witnesses the universe still as a timeless singularity. How then is then expanding faster than 0 time? Is the universe working backwards in time?

  • Enlightenment, non-dual mind and psychedelics?

Do you think it would be useful to incorporate psychedelics to start down the path of enlightenment for those who lack the discipline necessary for Zen meditation practices? I've often been able to reach the state of mind by both routes, but not sure how to replicate the results on a friend of mine.

Given any three fixed points (a, b, c) which locations are known, how would I get the coordinate of some arbitrary point (x) for which the distances from each fixed point is known?

    Job 39:9-10

9 Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?

10 Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?

If the bible is true, where are these awesome creatures? I want one for myself.

  • Could the universe be a simulation?

Technically couldn't the entire universe just be a massive computer simulation. I know this sounds eerily like the matrix, but on a serious note. From the point of view of someone composed of this computer code they would see it all as a consistent seem-less world in which they have freedom, but they are bound by the rules of the code, aka the laws of nature.

The people inside could not fathom a world 'outside' the universe, it would appear to be a higher dimension to them. And looking back on their universe using all their instruments of study, they will be faced with a giant universal explosion, a big bang. As the outsiders would see it, the 'big bang' was the start commands of the program and the begin of the simulation.

Furthermore, could it be a recursive process? Could we, as human beings, eventually create the technology to generate a simulation so real, so much like our own universe that it generates within it, planets, systems, and eventually life?

Would this generated life be as real as us? If it was based on the same fundamental rules governing our world. And would that make us gods and universe-creators?

  • Conquering social neediness?

Does anyone know some good techniques to stop being socially needy. I find myself instantly responding to all text messages and responses, have a hard time understanding that people can be 'busy' and am overall just a pest. Anything I can do to calm down and let the chips fall where they may?

  • Bad Friend-zone Habit?

I have a problem with women, whenever I talk to them either one of two things happen, I become a great friend who has to listen to all their emotional problems or boy issues. Or we totally yell at each other until we don't talk anymore. What is the best way to maintain that balance between caring and not caring? (I don't want to become a close friend, but i also don't want to be an asshole to them.)

Basically, what should I be talking to them about and how do I make it known that I am only interested in a romantic relationship without coming off as a wuss?

  • Need some perspective.?

Hey I've been back on the market recently and I just feel like I have lost my mojo. I'm an attractive guy with a lot going for me but it seems I have just not been looking in the right areas or girls just don't like me. Which doesn't make sense. Maybe I'm just having bad luck, or maybe I come off completely wrong with the few girls I have talked to... i don't know. (Normally i just introduce myself casually, and start up a small conversation.) Anyone have any pointers as to how i can get my mojo back and get girls to like me?

  • Friends with an ex-girlfriend?

This girl and I broke up a while ago, due to her being extremely shady and hanging out with this guy. Well after the breakup we decided to try and be friends, recently I discovered she is now dating this guy and has been for quite some time. I want to be friends with her and realize that we just aren't good for each other, but its so awkward because she is always being so mushy with him: "My life has changed singe the moment i met you<3", etc. And she is always bragging about how much of an amazing perfect day they had. I don't really want to be with her, but for some reason it still makes me feel awkward and hurt when i read or hear about what she does with her new bf. (She was even talking about her hickeys on her breasts) I try to be as cool as I can be about it, but i guess it still bothers me.

We had a conversation in which I told her I don't want to just sit around and be friends with her while shes was out doing other guys, but she refuses to not be friends with me. She says she wants us to become really close and be great friends and wants me to talk to her everyday.

    I'm so confused. Any suggestions?
