I am looking for a college where:

1. Academics are important. Where average SAT scores are not under 1700. Where kids and professors genuinely care about learning and are at college for that purpose.

2. Christianity is either very common or the official religion of the college. I want the opportunity to grow in my faith at college.

3. It's okay to be gay, and it's okay to advocate for gay marriage, etc.

I am having a very hard time finding any, but there are many colleges to search through. I'm open to anything in the US and Canada. Thanks :)

The two political factions in midieval Italy were called Guelphs and Ghibellines- the Guelphs were also divided into the "Black Guelphs" (who supported the papacy) and "White Guelphs" (who desired a secularized government without papal influence). Why are they called "black" and "white"? Is there reason for the color? How did they come to be called this?

a friend of mine sent me an excerpt from a to write love on her arms blog a year or so ago, and now i can't find the rest of it online anywhere. she said it was from september 11, 2006, and the piece she gave me read:

i speak afrikaans at home but was raised in the states so i am horrible at spelling. i wrote a song that has a part in afrikaans and i'd like to know if i spelled everything right because the dictionary isn't workin for me haha. i'd appreciate it if someone could check the spelling...

people say all the time that god's not a vending machine. then what's the point of taking prayer requests? it seems to use the idea that with enough people to pray for something, we can win god over, just like enough money can buy a candy bar from a vending machine.

so, i've written (well made up, not written) 15-ish pieces of music. some are classical piano and violin solo pieces, but most i guess would be considered normal rock songs- typically they have guitar, keyboards, vocals, drums, bass... the usual. i've also made up quite a bit of stuff for full orchestra, although i haven't been able to write it down or record it in any way.

i have a piano, guitar and violin, all acoustic, and a midi keyboard. my mom got me the program finale pro for my birthday (i have absolutely no clue how to use it).

what's the best, easiest, quickest, cheapest way for me to record and share my music? i would be very grateful for any good answers. thanks.
