  • Am I The One With the Issues?

Okay so I live with my uncle (hes 28, mentally 12), my Grandma (who adopted me), my biological mom, and my biological sister. I am 14 almost 15, and have had some problems recently with my mom (grandma). From now on when I refer to my 'mom' i mean grandma. Okay so lately she has been really rude to me, and to be honest I don't know why.. I'm nice to her, the only time I get annoyed and might give attitude is when she asks me to do my uncles chores. Like right when I get home from school she asks me to do his work, which is not bad at all. But whenever I ask her questions she always is sooo rude back, and so then I'm like 'jeez, you're rude'. But yesterday I came home from school and she bombarded me right when I walked in the door. She was complaining how I ate up all the Strawberry mini Cakes, but my reply to her was that I specifically asked for them so i assumed that they were mine. My reasoning behind this, was because whenever my uncle asked for things he would get them an NO ONE could touch them. I have to agree, I did eat them up rather fast but that's because I craved them so much. Anyways on my way upstairs I yelled 'you use to much favoritism' (to be honest i don't think i used that the correct way so excuse it please). But anyways as I was about to step into my room I heard my biological mom say 'it is true, you spoil Chase'(Chase being my uncle). Anyways ever since last week shes been the biggest ***** (excuse my french). But i just get so worked up over it and i want to cry but that never helps, I am far from cutting to be honest . ( i don't think that type of thing would help anyways). Oh and whenever I'm cleaning up dishes (since my chore is the kitchen after dinner), my uncle always aggravates me. As I said before he's mentally 12, and I don't mean that in a bitchy way, I'm being straight forward. So whenever he aggravates me ( which I think he does to just get my flustered and I try not to but it's so hard) I say go away and then automatically my mom assumes its MY fault. To be honest, I believe she does have 'favorites' and chase being one of them. I don't know what to do, I try to hold in my anger too but I just end up wanting to escape, and so my way of escaping is by watching love movies. And that makes me feel like **** at the ends because I have to come back to realty. Anyways what should I do... oh and christmas is coming up and right after that is my birthday.. and she was like 'what do you want for christmas and your birthday' and i replied 'money'. Cause just like every other teen I like to buy my Own things and don't enjoy opening presents that I don't really want or need. But then her reply was 'I don't think I'll have money for you' but my cousins birthday just passed and she is giving m=him money so idk.-. dont want to sound ungrateful but yeah.... What should I do...

  • Statistics help pleas 10 easy points?

In the study, 311 women were randomly divided into four groups. The first group followed the atkins diet, which is based on very low carbohydrate intake. The second group followed the LEARN diet, which is based on low fat and high carbohydrate intake. The third group followed the Ornish diet, which is based on very high intake of carbohydrates. The fourth group followed the Zone diet, which is based on low carbohydrate intake. Each group received weekly instruction for two months, and there was a follow up one year from the beginning of the study. The mean weight losses of each group after one year on the diet are shown in the table below .

    Atkins LEARN Ornish Zone

    n1 = 77 n2 = 79 n3 = 76 n4 = 79

    weight losses x1 = 10.36 x2 = 5.73 x3 = 4.85 x4 = 3.53

    (in pounds) s1 = 15.79 s2 = 12.50 s3 = 13.73 s4 = 12.00

In questions 1-4 perform a 2-sample z-test to determine whether the mean weight losses of the two indicated groups are different. For each one write your conclusion as a sentence. Use a level of significance of 0.05. You must show or explain how you arrived to your conclusions. Simply rejecting or failing to reject the null hypothesis is NOT sufficient.

    1. Test the weight losses of people in the Atkins group against those in the LEARN group.

    2. Test the weight losses of the people in the Ornish group against those in the Zone group.

    3. Test the weight losses of the people in the LEARN group against those in the Zone group.

    4. Test the weight losses of the people in the Atkins group against those in the Ornish group.

    5. Suppose that in another study, 42 people used an herbal supplement and a high-fiber, low calorie diet to loose weight. The mean weight loss of this group was 7.05 pounds and the standard deviation was 7.28 pounds.

    a. Test the mean weight loss of this group with the Atkins groups described previously. Use 0.01

    b. Test the mean weight loss of this group with the Zone group described previously. Use 0.01

    6. In which comparisons in the previous questions (1-5) did you find a difference in the weight losses? Write a summary of your findings.

  • Random Variables and distibution?

A researcher wants to investigate the effects of environmental factors on IQ scores. For an initial study, she takes a sample of 400 people who grew up as the only child. She finds that 47% of them have an IQ score over 100 . It is known that 50% of the general population has an IQ score exceeding .

Find the mean of p, where p is the proportion of people with IQ scores over 100 in a random sample of 400 people.

Find the standard deviation of p .

Compute an approximation for P(p> .47, which is the probability that there will be 47% or more individuals with IQ scores over 100 in a random sample of 400. Round your answer to four decimal places.

    h0: mean = 98.6F (claim) Ha: mean = approx. 98.6

    sample size: N; 130

Population: adult human temperatures( Fahrenheit )

    Distribution; Approx. normal

    Test Statistic: x= 98.25 s= 0.73

Use significance of alpha = 0.05

    a) determine the critical values

    b) determine the rejection regions

    c) find the standardized test statistic.

    d) Make a decision to reject or fail to reject the null hypothesis.

    e) interpret the decision in the context of the original claim.

    2. If you lower the level of significance to alpha = 0.01 does your decision change? Explain .

    3. Test the hypothesis that the mean temperature of men is 98.6, what can you conclude at a level of significance of alpha = 0.01

    4. Now test the hypothesis; that the mean temperature of women is 98.6, what can you conclude at a level of significance of alpha = 0.01

    5. Use the sample of 130 temperatures to form a 99% confidence interval for the mean body temp. of all humans.

THANK YOU (: please explain and as soon as possible would be great(:
