It can't be cut or sliced because you hit bone from any angle. It has a backbone and rib bones, a huge amount of breading, and less meat than a leg.From the outside, it looks like you really have a nice piece of meat. What a disappointment.
Asked this same question to someone who works at KFC. Shockingly, they said what I've described is a Thigh. In reality, it's mostly bones covered with breading. We've decided that a better and more cost effective option it to purchase hot chicken pieces in a plastic serving tray from our local supermarket deli.
KFC is very fair - Everyone gets their equal share of bones.
