Does reporting questions and answers do anything anymore?
More and more crap questions and answers show up every day and I've never seen any of them actually get removed.
We can't edit the categories anymore, so reporting is all we can do and that doesn't seem to be doing any good.

Yes, but not unless others do it also. People are lazy here and don't want to take the time to report a violation. This is why so many posts are not reported and removed. Trust rating seem to not work and it takes a number of reports to make it happen. Everyone did there part there would be fewer trolls on the site.

People who report questions or answers are a bunch of losers with nothing to do. Do you really plan on reporting every question and answer that you find offensive??? What a waste of time.

Sometimes it does it Depends on if the Community Moderation Reporting System is working Correctly or not Some days it works good other days it does not

There are NO human being employees removing reported questions and answers. It is all done by software. No one knows how many reports it takes to get something removed from the YA display. If you don't report, it is less likely it will be removed. If you report something, then email Verizon, you are told to email Yahoo. You email Yahoo and you have no idea if a live human being sees that email or not.
You should report. Maybe Verizon/Yahoo will fix the email problems with appealing, but after more than 2 years many of us have given up, even when the abuse is so obvious that people talk about it on YA.

No, you cant just drop content in 1 report anymore, unfortunately.

Rarely, but it works somewhat

Yes, questions/answers/comments do still get removed. It might take many reports though (no way to know how many any particular post gets).
Relocating questions to other categories is a separate issue. The biggest reason that ability was removed is because users were abusing it by moving questions into subcategories where they didn't belong, instead of reporting them in the category where they were (best suited for their topic, even though a violation). Yahoo Mail>Spam & Abuse (for example) was a favorite dumping ground, even though virtually none of the questions dumped there had anything to do with spam email or email abuse.

Yes it does but now it takes multiple reports for something to be removed and not enough users report violations.

The reporting system is still working although it's a little slow. I suspect that Y/A has software that removes a lot of questions. I've found questions removed in a matter of minutes after they were submitte by someone. A little fast for a persnon, so it must be software at work.
