Does windows intentionally mess with your computer to force an update?
I noticed a pattern that every time there is an update (and if I go to the start menu amd click shut off, it ll say "shut down & update"), some aspects of windows suddenly stop working. Today, it was the WiFi; the entire device just switched off, and I couldn t turn it back on (apparently the driver wasn t working anymore).
This stuff has happened a lot before and every time there was an update too. I was just wondering

there is no doubt that microsoft simply dont have the ability to get it right. the reason stuff ends up that way is because they set a software switch that says INSTALL DEFAULT DRIVERS for this device. in those circumstances YOU must manually install the latest MAINBOARD CHIPSET driver(which talks to your BIOS) then manually set the correct drivers for sound/gpu and anything else on the mainboard such as LAN/WiFi but since they dont change much they will probably at least work.

It appears that it is deliberate. That the up-date is there to prevent some one from exploiting a weakness in Windows and it triggers a mandatory re-boot to continue to access the internet.
I am not upset with MS to the point I am going to switch to Unix yet and I will do that before I go to apple.
So just live with it- it was programmed that way to prevent a worse event.
Too bad MS can't sell totally debugged software to us the first time around so up-dates would not be needed. Most of us replace our units often enough that we get forced into new software any way, but this neglect in selling programs without shaking all the bugs out is getting tiresome.
I learned basic on a Vic-20, I think the C-64 was my first computer that I used a modem on.

If you have Windows 10 then it will update when it wants to unless you go to Settings and tell it to wait until it is not in use. You can also suspend updates for up to 30 days I believe it is.But never turn your computer off when it is in the process of updating as that messes everything up.
