I accidentally did something, and now all my Word documents are in PDF and don't open. I am a full dummy. Please help me. Thanks.?

they aren't in PDF, they are just set to open with Adobe Reader.
just right-click, open with, choose default program, and click Word

Right click on one of them
Select open with
Scroll to word, and click on it

Are you saving them as Word documents?  Check that you're saving them as .doc files and not .pdf files.
