Do people realize that when you tax imports it hurts your exports too, because the foreign country can not earn purchasing power?

Trade is two way; when you slow imports. You slow exports. Why is there so much misunderstanding on this concept?

    Some people do I am sure. I hate i never had a head for business.

    Sadly they don't. Plus the costs involved are passed on to the consumer. It causes inflation.
