Ooo woo ooo woo. The alarms at the environment protection agency are screaming widely after reading what you plan to do. never dispose of oil of any sort down the drains. it does huge damage to the environment. You may only see it disappear into the drain but the fact is it empties out somewhere. Maybe it ends up at a sewerage works where it is likely purified to make water that can be used for irrigation, or ends up in the sea killing all sorts of marine life. Oil is full of dangerous chemicals that should not be dumped into the environment. Perhaps contact the local city authority and ask if they have a place to dispose of things like oil.

No! You take used oil to a recycling center or to an oil change joint and dispose of it properly! Why you even doing your own oil changes? I tell my customers that there are so many oil change places and car dealerships offering specials on oil changes that it doesn't pay to do them yourself!

Dump it in a hole in your back yard.

Plant two Rose bushes, one over the oil and one elsewhere. Watch what happens to the two bushes.

People forget, or never knew, oil is an organic compound, resulting from the decomposition of ancient living organisms.

The correct procedure is to use it for cooking all your fried food. That way, you and your family are the only ones exposed to the carcinogenic compounds.

I see all your questions are troll questions. I recommend you drink the oil instead. We will all be happier.

You would be better off pouring it on the ground.

NO, I did not say dumping was acceptable, only that it won't do AS MUCH damage of pouring it in your plumbing.

Note: Where I live, anyplace the offers oil changes is legally required to accept used oil for proper disposal, and most places that sell oil also accept it.

Why would that be okay? You cannot put motor oil anywhere except for the places that accept it.

Not really no, this is how we get backlogged and blocked sewers.

It should be taken to somewhere for proper disposal really.

It depends on the quantity of course. If your talking about a cupfull then fair enough. But I presume you mean you have anything from a litre to a gallon?

Holy crap! You mean oil from your car! I thought you meant from a deep fat fryer! Hell no to chucking that down your drain! Oil needs to be properly disposed of. Release of that into the environment is very harmful, and furthermore. Most sanitation plants are probably not fully equipped to remove motor oil from drinking water. Would you like to be drinking water further contaminated with motor oil?

Please do the right thing, even though it requires more effort, we have a responsibility to our community and environment. Throwing engine oil or the likes down the drain shirts that responsibility.
