A possible suggestion on how to simplify income taxes. What do you think?

Congress the IRS and lobbyist are constantly fighting over how to simplify the income tax system. What is lacking is motivation. Suppose everyone in Congress and all the IRS personnel that so much as put a comma in a rule or regulation must do their taxes in an enclosed room. At the end of the time the IRS says the taxes would take a cyanide pellet drops in the room. If the taxes are not correct they return to the room for any remaining time. It would provide the motivation to do the job QUICK!

The US income tax is relatively simple. However, it covers a variety of types of income, industries, and so forth. Only IRS Agents, CPA's, and Tax Attorneys, have to understand the whole thing.
