CAN SOMEONE PLEASE FIND THE PH LEVELS FOR THESE 5 CHEM PROBLEMS!!!!!?
1. 0.01 M HCl
2. 0.0010 M NaOH
3. 0.050 M Ca(OH)2
4. 0.030 M HBr
5. 0.150 M KOH

These are all strong acids or strong bases. As such, they completely ionize in solution. So:
1. 0.01 M HCl When this completely ionizes, [H+] = 0.01 M (Are you OK with that?) So,
pH = -log [H+] = - log 0.01 = 2.0
2. 0.0010 M NaOH
Here, [OH-] = 0.0010 M
You can get to pH two different ways.
(a) In any aqueous solution, [H+] X [OH-] = 1.00X10^-14
So, [H+] = 1.00X10^-14 / 0.0010 = 1.0X10^-11
pH = -log (1X10^-11) = 11.00
(b) Calculate pOH as pOH = -log [OH-]. So
pOH = -log (0.0010) = 3.00
pH + pOH = 14.00
pH = 14.00 - 3.00 = 11.00
3. 0.050 M Ca(OH)2
This is done the same was as 2., except that [OH-] = 2(0.050 M) = 0.10 M OH-. From here, follow #2.
4. 0.030 M HBr (Just like #1)
5. 0.150 M KOH (Just like #2)
