Brock Osweiler to the Browns..?

So basically, the Texans are giving the Browns a second-round pick in 2018, in return for $10 million of cap space?

Is this the start of a new trend?

Actually, it depends on his work ethic during every offseason. If Brock Osweiler works hard and performs very well in practice every day, he will greatly improve his chances of becoming a successful, top notch NFL quarterback for the Cleveland Browns in the future.

I'm actually surprised he went to the struggling Browns who almost couldn't win one game in 2016.

Not likely to be a trend, you need a team with so much cap space they'd have trouble reaching the minimum number, along with a contract so bad you'll give up picks to get out of it. That doesn't happen very often.

Basically it saved them a lot more than $10,000,000 in cap space. It saved them $16,000,000 this year plus the $9,000,000 remaining in guaranteed money.

What I can't understand is what two QB "experts", Elway and O'Brien, saw in him to begin with. In two years of college he never showed any NFL potential.

It's a good deal for both teams especially if the Browns can turn around and trade Osweiler. The 2nd round pick is their reward in the deal.

All not shocking. Just goes to show John Elway in Denver knew what he was doing when he refused to pony up the cash to Brock and let him walk.

That's when you know you suck when a team trades you, along with other assets, just to get rid of you.
