Is it harmful to consume dairy products?
There are now official studies showing that dairy is more harmful than helpful in the human diet.
I have been a vegan for about 1 year (I despised the animal industry, but at this point it is deteriorating my health to a point where I cannot function), and I have noticed a decline in my energy levels, my acne has gradually increased, and I have been more irritable (ps. I do not eat many processed foods on my vegan diet)
So ultimately, my question is: would it be harmful to switch to a vegetarian for my ultimate health, or is dairy more harmful than good. (I would also consider an omnivorous diet that lacks dairy)

There are people who react badly to dairy products. Half of the world is still lactose intolerant. Somewhere is high as 10% have some sort of mild intolerance to dairy proteins and/or dairy fats.
There's not all that much down side to avoiding dairy if you can afford it. Paleo eating systems take all foods that have lots of people with intolerance reactions and bans them. Dairy is banned in some paleo eating systems for this reason.
As long as you have gone dairy free for at least a week then added it back, you have done an eliminate and challenge process on dairy. You know if it causes you problems. If it causes you problems, avoid it. Simple how that works. Not all that simple in figuring it out systematically.

Its all about dosage,
A cup of dairy milk once a year isn't really going to affect you in a negative way, even a cup a month will not have that much affect on you. Now if you drunk like a cup every hour then yes it will have an affect on you, just as much as eating a cup of shredded cup of carrots every hour.
As for low energy levels there could be several reasons:
1) Your suffering from depression (depression is often unrecognised and does zap your will to do stuff)
2) Lifestyle - maybe need more exercise
3) Diet - maybe need a more varied diet, more calories or have a food allergy to something (quorn products time to time make me break out in a rash).
Now with all that said I am not a doctor, so you should go and talk to your doctor about what you are suffering with.

I can bring up as many, if not more, that indicate that dairy is healthy for you. Dairy, unless you have an issue with lactose or something else, is both a complete protein and, to the horror of many vegans, a viable source of calcium. Dairy comes in many forms from liquid milk to yogurt to various forms of cheese and other products. The type of dairy available depends on the animal whether it be cow, goat, sheep or another animal and even the effect on our systems changes depending on this. For example the lactose in goats milk is more easily digestible than in cows milk and many people with mild lactose intolerance can drink goats milk without issue.
That being said and to answer your main question no, it is not harmful to consume dairy products. Liquid milk for example is beneficial to humans during their growing stage from early childhood to the early to mid twenties. After this yogurt and cheese provide valuable nutrients that the body requires in a form easily used by the body. When a person reaches their mid 50's or so then liquid milk again becomes a healthy alternative. Just as a side note, studies have proven that a small amount of cheese daily can assist in losing weight and maintaining the weight loss.

You will find all kind of studies contradicting each other.
All of them science based too.
A lot of research is funded by people who have agendas. Whether for or against.
From my experience, since I trust few doctors and doctors generally know very little about nutrition anyway, I have seen people develop osteo when they should not having lived on loads of dairy products all their lives.
Other people derive their calcium from other sources.
All the food we eat nowadays has its own doses of pesticides and all kind of stuf anyway. Considering that cows are given stereoids ? and all kind of stuff to make them grow very fast and produce as much milk as possible I would say that the milk would contain plenty of bad stuff alright. Harmful ? perhaps.
But so is fish, chicken, meat everything especially in north america.
Better try to find out what you are deficient in.
PS: everybody is an expert those days...does not mean they are real experts.

In my experience, dairy has always made my acne worse! Even before I was vegan I avoided dairy at all costs because of the havoc it wreaked on my skin! I don't know the science behind this but dairy has always been my skin's biggest enemy.

No, these studies have been largely funded by the vegan lobby, I have osteoporosis and the doctor and nutritionist has advised me to eat more low fat dairy, in spite of the lie from vegans that dairy actually worsens this condition. I take more notice of these trained professionals than those promoting a minority lifestyle. The osteoporosis was caused as I suffered anorexia nervosa from 2001-2005 and still tend to be slightly to moderately underweight. [106 pounds, 7st8 or 48kg :height 5'11"/ 178 cms]

Of course it is, haven't you noticed how every person who consumes dairy products dies in the very short term, causing the world population to practically reduce to 70 millions, which corresponds to the 1% of vegans out of the 7 billions that existed before humanity started to consume dairy products a few years ago?
That's why old people don't exist either, they all die young due to meat and diary consumption. The very few ones that are out there are the ones who were smart enough to go vegan in the 50's..

It's not going to be harmful if you are smart about how much you consume. For example, it's not good for you if you are drinking glasses of cow milk daily. However, having milk in your foods really isn't a big deal. Most things are fine in moderation, like butter for example; it's extremely unhealthy if you eat it in every meal in large quantities, but a little bit here and there is fine for you. The main contributor to bad health is meats, not dairy. Plus things like yogurts and such can be a great source of protein for vegetarians and vegans, I eat Greek Yogurt daily.
Overall, if you are feeling weak and are getting acne from being vegan, that's your body telling you that you need to make a change. Being vegetarian is a lot less intense than vegan, so you definitely should consider making the change for your health. Your health comes first! Consuming things like eggs is typically pretty good for you (if prepared properly). Good luck, hope I helped!!

There are no official studies proving that. Dairy is not harmful at all if you don't over do it since its high in fat.
You need to eat meat. Its good for you

dairy is harmful. get a blood test and see if you have any deficiencies. you just need to adjust your vegan diet if you're having difficulties. try eating more fruit, cutting out oils, and reducing fats in general. that helped me when i had a bout of acne as a vegan. also, it's important to stay hydrated
