I just passed 49 years of martial arts training. What would you recommend I do next year to celebrate 50 years in the martial arts?
By the way, My 49 years of martial arts training has not been like most peoples. By that i mean lots of people will say that they have X number of years of martial arts training. What they really have is a few years of going to a class several times a week. I began training at 13 and was obsessed with training. I trained 6 days a week (1973 and late 1997). Since then I have taught privately and continued my training.

I say buy a sports car, and drive the hell out of it. Go somewhere you always wanted to go and never did, and do something you always wanted to do and never did.
And keep up the good work!

Have you tried training in martial arts with shaolin in China? You could learn Qigong and become a more complete martial artist and human. Just a thought, I'm no expert but I plan on training at some point with the shaolin.

What martial art did you practice. If you practice Escrima or any other martial art for that matter, you should consider taking a trip and training with grand master Rena Latosa.

Nice humble brag. (I mean, good on ya, but you don't need anyone here to decide how to pat yourself on the back.)

do what you normally don't get to do. have some beers, indulge, go on a trip. honestly if i was at my 50 year mark i would prob either just have a lil party or go on a trip and train for a few days with a teacher i look up to.
