headlight adjustment?

Lately I ve noticed most cars headlights shine mostly on the ground about 20-30 feet ahead of the car. Is that the way they should be? On unlit roads at night that doesn t permit driving faster than 25-30 MPH. On Highways, especially ones that curve, lights like this are largely a hazard than an appliance without using the highbeams. I want mine shining further. Is my only choice HID, highbeams, or crawl too slow to be safe.

When there is no traffic either ahead of you or approaching select high beam.

When any traffic appears quickly select low (dipped ) beam..

20 to 30 feet is too close you need get your headlamps properly aligned.

Here in the UK is is part 8f our annual vehicle inspection.

That is why hi-beams are available. If your low beams are shining too high, you risk the other driver running into you head on.
