Is it logical to go to a community college.?

I'm a highschool senior, i've been accepted to san jose state, and merced and riverside. I feel like i never realized my full potential in highschool. Is it logical to try again at a community college for a shot at berkeley? (Dream School)

It is Very logical, and SMART to do so. Not only will you have a better foundation by the time you get to ANY four-year school, but you will save a lot of money by going to CC first.

Many in-state schools have "articulation agreements" with community colleges... That is, the four-year school has a policy that says, if you complete a set number of credit hours (sometimes, specific classes) at the community college, at or above a certain GPA, you are guaranteed admission to the four-year school regardless of your high school record/ACT/SAT score.

California DOES have such a policy, other in-state CA schools may have such a policy as well.

Your high school counselors should have told you about this... and should be able to offer you guidance.

You can read about Berkeley's program, at the source link, below.

    Good luck!

You'd bet better off trying harder at SJSU and trying to transfer. It is really hard to transfer to Berkeley because the retention rate there is so high, there just aren't very many openings, but you can give it a go.
