Any" Urban Cowboy" fans? Did Bud make the wrong choice in women?

In the movie Bud seems to have a choice between Sissy, his wife, and Pam, a more recent girlfriend/lover. He choose Sissy. Did he make a mistake? Please include your sex (m/f) to help clarify the results. Thanks.

    I love that movie. He did make the right decision. Took the idiot long enough. That other woman would never have kept him. It was just for sport. Fun. No love there. Sissy was always the right girl for him. They had to be together in the end. Love is messy and passionate. I'm female.
