Printer question:?
My Kodak all in one printer says its out of ink when I don't use it much. The cartridge is still heavy with ink and I get ink on my finger touching the outlet. Is there some hack or reset that can make this printer use the ink it has instead of cheating every month for a new cartridge. They are not cheap at that rate. If I knew this before buying it I would have chosen some other brand.

do yourself a favour, dump that printer.
Kodak printers were one of the worst performing printers ever created, they boasted cheap ink but majority of users reported very low output from the cartridges, sometimes as low as 6 pages.
as a result of this very poor performance, bad press and user ratings, Kodak decided to drop production of all printers.
the printers have a huge flaw when it comes to printing, their main/only purpose, unfortunatly there is little that you can do to get the printer to use the remaining ink, they usually have a lot left but the chip on the cartridge will tell the printer it's empty, even when it's not.
you could try a 'hard reset' on the printer, just google the model number and the words 'Hard Reset', eg 'How to Hard Reset a Kodak ..... Printer'
it's usually a process of holding down certain buttons, pulling the power cord, keep holding those buttons and put the power cord back and turn on. the steps are always different depending on printer manufacturer and model number.
this might reset the print count/ink level detection, but might not. it's worth a try.

Ink jet printers are a loosing game in long run. I dumped mine long time ago and went with cheap monochrome/color laser printers. Samsung makes some decent ones. I bought several for less than $100 on sale. Toner does not dry up as ink.
