Ensure as hot chocolate ?

My 90 yo Dad drinks Ensure to help his poor appetite. He likes hot chocolate. Can I heat Ensure or will it taste different or change the nutritional value ?

    Ensure can be heated in the microwave or in a saucepan on the stove top burner and used as hot chocolate. Just heat an 8 oz. bottle of Ensure until it is hot. Do not let it boil as boiling will effect the nutritional value.

    Here's the information from the Ensure website.

    It looks like you can heat it, but don't boil it.

    Whether or not it changes the taste would be something your father would need to decide.

    Ensure has a lot of added vitamins and minerals, so I would be afraid that heating might change the taste (which isn't great to begin with), but all you can do is give it a try.
