My job is making me miserable ?
Help !!!
I started my new job after finishing college (law). I worked there as an intern for something over a year and it wasnt so bad. Now, 3 months in, I think i may have made the greatest mistake of my life.
I'm constantly depressed, tired and without any life. I work 12-16 hours a day. I barely manage to get to the gym, simply because IM not making it in the opening hours. I have no time for hobbies, family, friends, nothing - I come home, eat and go to sleep. My social life went to -1103.
It's taking toll on my health - I'm showing signs of overworking, fatigue and general grumpiness. During weekends, I have to try to relax cause Im so overwhelmed with everything.
The summer before i started working, I was the happiest person ever ! Now Im the most miserable person. I dont know what to do :(

Are these hours the norm or is this just during this phase? Is it just the hours or is it the actual work? Can you talk to your boss or co-workers and see how they cope and what changes can be made? Is this just the shock of having a lot of free time to not having very much free time?
Try to take some time alone to breath and relax for a few minutes and review what you want to do in life, what direction do you want to go in and see how closly this job matches that. Is this job just a stepping stone or is it the end game? If you went to another job would it be the same type of work with long hours? What does your heart and soul tell you? Listen and take steps to move in it's direction.

I've often thought people should do work experience before going to school. It's often different type of job in a persons mind compare to reality. On the other hand are you will to sacrifice for you future in that line of work? There's lots of trades that are seasonal and are very busy in winter to break up with very long hours.
