What in my question violated Yahoo's guidelines and cost me 10 points?? Question inside?

I was inquiring about legitimate websites I could use to check my credit report, such as freecreditreport.com creditkarma.com, and annualcreditreport.com, so I posted the following question on Yahoo Answers

"What are some legitimate credit report sites"

What about that question could even possibly not meet their guidelines? I didn't read the email until after the appeal period had already expired, so I was unable to get my 10 points returned, but I would still appreciate an official explanation for this from Yahoo staff. Seems like a very poor enforcement system, it's quite common for people to wait well over a week in between checking their emails.

Most likely your question was reported as a 'spambait' or 'spamfeeder' question. Many such questions are posted by spammers as an opportunity for other spam accounts to post their links.

You can still appeal using the alternate appeal link, but won't likely win the appeal. Any question which asks for sites or links which could benefit any individual, company, or corporation LOOKS suspicious and is often reported for spam/solicitation.

Some body probably saw it as spam bait, especially if you listed potential site. We would really need to see the entire post to give you a better answer.

That wasn't a reason for you to be reported, you should appeal as it seems you were reported in error.
