Car window frame covered with plastic sheet?
Some Japanese motor car manufacturers use black adhesive platic sheet to cover the frames of car windows instead of painting.
Will the plastic sheet peel off by itself easily and will the color fade?

I can remember when American cars first started being made with black trim and black window frames.........some makers with older models with bright frames responded immediately by using a black film on the frame . . . . I had one and the film started to fade and peel after a couple years. That was in the late 1980s and no doubt the materials are better now . . . . but I'd surely prefer to have my car made with something more permanent than film/tape.
